Va., following an attack while

stationed at Fort Jackson, is
spending a ten day leave at
home prior to going to Fort
Bliss, Texas, where he will be
stationed the remainder of the

Mrs. Irby Hipp, who is making
her home in Rock Hill, enter,

ter, Mrs. Eugene Avery, last
week. During the morning the
group visited the Glen Cairn
Gardens. During the afternoon,
Mrs. Rutledge Adair, a former
city resident, invited the group
to her home for tea.

Miss Almena (Sister) Blalock,
Converse College freshman, was
one of twenty freshmen tapped
for membership in the Order of
the Crescent, an honorary lead
ership organization. Selections
are made on the basis of schol
arship, character and leader
ship. She is the daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Geroge R. Blalock.
