C. Poole. On Thursday the Godfreys and Mrs. Poole visited her son, Dr. M. C. Poole and family in Spartanburg. Joe Holland is convalescing in Newberry County Hospital, New. berry, after undergoing surgery there Monday. He expects to re turn to his home this week. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Edwards and son, Eddie, of North Charles ton were week-end guests of Mr. and, Mrs. George Reid. c. Mrs. John W. Finney Sr., is visiting, her sister, Mrs. W. A. Galloway and Mr. Galloway in West Palm Beach, Fla. She will also visit her brother, J. P. Mc Millan and Mrs. McMillan, in Lakeland, Fla., before returning home. LEAVES FOR KOREA Capt. Marion Dowdle who has been stationed at FL Hood, Tex as with an armored division, left yesterday for San Francisco, Calif., from where he will leave for a IS month tour of duty in Korea. Capt. Dowdle, Mrs. Dow dle and. small daughter, Kathy, have been visiting his brother, John Dowdle and family. His wife and small daughter will re main with the Dowdies and also her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Merith in Greenville, while Capt. Dowdle is away. Mrs. P. B. Adair a returned 'Tuesday from Washington, Gt., where she has been spending the past two months With her daugh ter, Mrs. D. H. Reynolds and Mr. Reynolds. (Bill) Abrams is a pa tient in Self Memorial hospital in Greenwood where he under went surgery on Friday. Mrs. Abrams has reported that he is convalesing nicely. Miss Carol Shealy was home for several days with her pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Shealy, during a semester break at the University of South Caro lina, Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mead ors, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Adair of Macon, Ga., Mrs. J. B. Kay of Byron, Ga., and Mrs. A. F. McCurdy of Summerville, Ga., spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. W. G. King, Sr. Mrs. O. T. Lawing of Greer joined them here and was the guest of her sister, Mrs. Irene Pitts. While here they also visited Mrs. Pitts, and Mr. and Mrs. Rhett P. Adair. Mrs. S. C.
