Mrs. Leonard S. Lockett en
tertained with a luncheon in
honor of her daughter, Miss Kit
ty Lockett, a student at the Spar
tanburg General Hospital, who
was home for the Christmas holi
days.
The occasioh was held in the
hospitality room of the Mary
M us grove Hotel on Friday, New
Year’s Day.
A seasonal arrangement with
candles was used on the lunch,
eon table.
Guests present for the occas-
sion were Misses Brenda Chris-
topherson, Mary Ellen Cornwell,
Susie Davis, and Patsy Hender
son.
Horizon Club Has
Snowball Dance
The Horizon Club Girls of the
Clinton Council of Camp Fire
Girls, including the Lewa, Peta.
ga, and Kadoka groups, will
sponsor their annual “Snow Ball
Dance” on Saturday evening,
January 9, at 8 o’clock in the
ballroom of the Mary Musgrove
Hotel.
One of the highlights of the
year for Horizon Club Girls, the
event will be a gala affair with
dancing to the music of “The
Shadows” from W. G.
Chaperoned by leaders of the
different groups, all parents,
members of the Campfire Board
of Directors, and any interested
members are invited to attend.
UDC Meets Tonight

federacy will meet tonight, Jan.
7 at 7:30 at the home of Mrs.

rooms.
In the dining room the table,
covered with red overlaid with
lace, was centered with a lovely
arangement of pine, berries and
gold burrs. A salad plate, ham
biscuits, cako, soffee and punch
were served with other party
dainties.

Methodist Church met Monday
afternoon in Hodges Hall.
During the business session is

ary meeting would be held joint

Guild at which time Prof. Ron
ald Burnside, of the Presbyterian
College faculty', would give a talk
on “The United Nations.”
'A Scripture and prayer was
given by Mrs. George Reid, and
a talk on “Mothers of Other Cul
tures” presented by Mrs. Ray
mond Pitts.
A social hpur followed at which
time the twenty-fifth anniver
sary of becoming a member of
the Woman’s Society was ob
served with a cake cutting. The
table was centered with a cake,
bearing twenty-five candles. Tea
was served by Mrs. Albert S.
Harvey, and cake by the presi
dent, Mrs. Dan Yarborough.
After the candles were blown
the “wish” for the society was
made by Mrs. J. B. Wilder.

were accompanied by Mr. and

guests of their son, Van Jones,

spent Christmas Day with Mr.
and Mrs. Jimmy Chandler in
Spartanburg. Others joining
