Earl Holt returned home last Friday from Washington, D. C., where he has been employed. Rev. Don Fowler was in Green- vibe bn Sunday and Monday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs David D. Fowler. Preston White, Jr., is home on a 20-day leave with his pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Preston White, Sr. He is in the Navy, stationed at San Diego, Calif. Ralph Reed will leave on Wed nesday to be with Mrs. Reed ffwri family in Prince l on, W. Va., during Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. C. B Scott of Charleston, visited Mr. and Mrs. Karl Sineath last Tuescay. Russell Johnson left on Friday for Princeton, W. Va., to spend the holidays with his family. Mrs. Claude Johnson, Jr., and Mrs. Ernest Smith Joined by Mrs. Marvin Patterson of near Clinton, were visitors in Green ville Saturday. Miss Janet Lawson, student of St. Andrews College, Laurin. burg, N, C., is spending the holi days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Lawson. Mrs. Frank Phillips returned last Monday after a two weeks visit with Rev. and Mrs. Obie Dyches and family in Lugoff. Friday visitors in Greenville were Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Mer chant and children. RETIRES FROM AIR FORCE T-Sgt. Harold L. Gardner re tired from the Air Force on Oc tober 23 after serving nearly 21 years, of which 11 were spent overseas. BUFFET SUPPER GIVEN The senior class of Epworth Methodist Church was entertain- ed with a Christmas party in the form of a buffet supper at the home of the teacher, Mrs. Ross Pickett. Each member and an in vited guest were presented a book mark with the picture of Christ on it. Games were enjoy ed by the group, with a prize be ing won by Barbara Frazier and Adrian Giles for wrapping the neatest gift in which the two wrapped together using only one hand each. Christmas music was played throughout the meal, which consisted of turkey and all the trimmings. The table was gaily decorated and the group enjoyed the meal by candle light. Mrs. George Metts and Mrs. Floyd Abrams assisted Mrs. Ross. Ross. COVERED DISH SUPPER Members of Epworth Metho dist Church enjoyed a covered <H«h supper on Sunday evening, Dec. 13, in the educational build ing. The Christinas tree was filled with gifts for the children, which had been placed there by the parents. Rev. Pickett was remembered also with a gener ous gift from the congregation. The singing of carols was en joyed. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT DYCHES Rev. and Mrs. Obie Dyches ef Lugoff, anonunce the birth of a daughter, Meria Scott, on Dec. 4 at the Camden hospital. Mrs. Dyches is the former Miss Doris Phillips of Joanna. They have two other children, twin daugh ters. Beth and Gaye.
