SCRIBERS WILL RECEIVE A NEW TYPE BILL
| IN DECEMBER
You will note a new type telephone bill has
been mailed to you this month. The new bill will
include a punched payment card and return enve
lope. The punched payment card and return enve
lope we believe will add to your convenience in
making payments.
The payment card under the new billing meth
od will eliminate any possibility of your account
being mixed up with any other customer. Instead
of two statements as before, your local service and
long distance charges will be explained on a single
statement.
If you pay by mail or if you prefer to pay in
person, please mail or bring the payment card and
the itemized telephone bill to our Businesa Office.
In this way we can assure you that proper credit
will be given to you account.
We hope that the preaddressed envelope and
payment card will add to your convenience in
mailing your payment, and if you bring your card
to our office this will enable us to promptly
jerve you.

DID YOU KNOW THE FIRST TELEPHONE BOOTH
WAS A BLANKET DRAPED OVER SOME BARREL
HOOPS? That’s right! It aB happened in 1877, when you
had to shout to be beard over the telephone. Thomas
Watson, assistant to Alexander Graham Bell made a
makeshift phone booth in order to muffle die sound of
the yelling. If you’ve been in a phone booth lately, you've
probably noticed we've come a long way since those early
days. No blankets. No barrel hoops. And no shouting. Just
c-omfort. Convenience. Speed. All this for a dime!
