CLYDE TRAMMELL Correspondent-Represeiitative Telephone 83S-MM Mr and Mrs. Ellis Huffstetler and Misses Sandy Huffstetler and Pam Brown visited the for mer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Huffstetler, in Newberry Sun day. Friends are glad to know that the latter Mr. Huffstetler Is improving after an illness. Mr. and Mrs. David Word and Mrs. John Word were Sunday visitors of the latter’s sister-in- law, Mrs. Hubert Reid, in Spar tanburg. Mr. and Mrs. James Ammons were in Pickens on Sunday of last week for the funeral ser vices of her aunt, Mrs. Christine Holder. Mr., and Mrs. J. T. Lanford and Johnny visited Mr. and Mrs. Junior McAlister in Greenwood Sunday. ^ Pvt. Roger Whitmire of Fort Bragg, N. C., spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R- E. Whitmire. Mrs. W. P. McLendon Debbie and Mrs. Ted Smith and Lynn of Greenwood, visited their father and grandfather, Coker J. Blackwell Saturday. Chi Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kellett of Ninety-Six, visited Mr. Black- well. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard and Miss Marion Ballard ami Mr. and Mrs. J. B. O’Shields visited in Newberry and Whit mire Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell attended the wedding of her cousin, Miss Norma Pruitt, to James Owens at the Woodfield Baptist Church in Greenwood on Tuesday evening of last week. On Sunday the Trammells visit ed her sister, Mrs. John Heath, in Greenville. Mrs. Sam Prince was the week-end guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Prince, in Marietta, Ga. Coker Blackwell and Mrs. Vir ginia Wilson were recent week end visitors of her brother, Wil lie Blackwell, who is seriously ill, and Mrs. Blackwell in John son ville. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Ledford and family of Gastonia, N. C., were week-end guests of her pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Arm strong. Visiting their sister, Mrs. Armstrong, Sunday were Mrs. Dewey Taylor of Wadesboro, N. C., Mrs. Grady Cafainess and Miss Vivian Kidd of Whitmire. Homer Fuller enjoyed a deer hunting trip over the week-end near Georgetown. Visiting Mrs. Fuller and father, S. J. Todd, during the week-end were Mrs. Wylie Harper of Greenwood, and Marvin Todd of Laurens. Miss Priscilla Gaskins remains a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. L. A. Mr. and Mrs. Lee McDaniel of Laurens, visited her brother, Martin Boozer, and Mrs. Boozer Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Simmons of Greer, were recent guests of her mother, Mrs. Emmie Thom as. Mrs. Edna Hooper and son, Douglas, of Duncan, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Edwards Deb bie of Spartanburg, visited Sun day with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Revis. WOMAN’S CLUB BANQUET POSTPONED The Lydia Woman’s Club ban quet that was to be held tonight has been postponed due to sev eral conflicts, but the club will meet at the community building at 7:90 p. m. CHURCH TO GIVE FOOD FOR CONNIE MAXWELL HOME The Lydia Baptist Church will join other Baptist Churches in South Carolina in bringing unper ishable itepis for the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home for Thanksgiving. All theLydia people are to have their donations at the church by Monday. WMS TO ATTEND STUDY AT CALVARY CHURCH The Lydia Baptist Church Woman’s Missionary Society will meet at the church tonight to leave at 6:4S to go to Calvary Baptist Church for the Foreign Mission study of the book, Fron tiers of Advance, which will be taught by Mrs. McCuen Thoma son of Laurens.
