The bride-elect is the daughter

After having served four years
hi the Air Force, Mr. Wilson
gradauted from the Ohio College
of Applied Science, Cincinnati.
Woman's Club Has
Halloween Party
The Clinton Mills Woman's
Club had a Halloween party Oc
tober 15 at the community build
ing. Mrs. Lois Wehunt is presi
dent of the club.
Mrs. Margaret Blakely, Mrs.
Betty Webb, and Mrs. Lucille
Taylor are first, second and
third vice-presidents, respective
ly. Edna Terry is serving as
secretary, while Mrs. Nellie
O’Shields and Mrs. Ella Harvey
are assistant secretaries.

treasurer and assistant treasur
er, resect!vely. Reporter for the
club is Mrs. Nell Haggart.
The club is sponsorings
"clothes closet” at the Mercer
Silas Bailey School this year.
They will have clothes of all
sixes to be given to anyone in
need. The club also has plumed
to serve families who are not
members af any church.

ment of their daughter, Martha, to Marion Freeman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Fi esuam
Miss White, a Clinton High School graduate, is presently
working at Chemstraad.
Also a Clinton High School graduate, Mr. Freeman is a stu
dent at Presbyterian College.
The couple is planning a home wedding in December.
Morgan-Howard Rites
In Greer Saturday
Mr. and Mrs. Hulon B. How
ard were married at S:90 p. m.,
Saturday, October 17, at the Mt.
Lebanon Baptist pastorium in
Greer. Rev. M. R. Simpson of
ficiated.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was given at the home of
the groom’s parents.
Mrs. Howard is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Morgan
and a graduate of Clinton High
School. Having graduated from
business college, the bride is em
ployed as clerk of the Probate
Court for Greenville County.
She will reside with the groom’s
parents until he has finished his
term in the U. S. Navy.
Mr. Howard, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Stewart Howard of Greer,
is a graduate of Greer High
School. He is presently in the U.
S. Navy, stationed at Balnbridge,
Md.

OES Initiation
Be Held Tonight
James B. Parrott Chapter No.
9 Order of Eastern Star will hold
a special meeting Thursday, Oct.
22, at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose
of initiation. All members are
urged to attend.
The annual Inspection will
be Oct. 23 with a supper at 6:30
and the meeting beginning at
8:00 in the evening. Mrs. Ed
Kay, the worthy Grand Matron
and Robert Kurtz, the Worthy
Grand Patron, will inspect this
meeting. Also to be present is
the District Deputy Grand Ma
tron, Mrs. Oscar Kinard.

For Faculty Wives
The Presbyterian College
Dames honored the new facul
ty wives Tuesday with a morn
ing coffee at the home of Mrs.
R. E. Fakkema, club presdient.
Mrs. Neal Prater, vice-presi
dent, and Mrs. Randy Huff,
secretary, were co-hostesses.
A lighted Jack-o-lantern,
bright fall leaves and bunch
es of grapes formed the center-
piece on the table which was
covered with a brown linen
cloth.
The hostesses were assisted
by Mrs. Alex Stump and Mrs.
J. M. Gettys. Mrs. Marshall
Brown and Mrs. J. M. Oeland
served at the coffee table.
Coffee, imported cheeses,
fruit and cookies were served
in the den.

In First Meeting
Mrs. George Breckenbrough
presided at the first meeting of
the current season of the Women
of the Church of the First Pres
byterian Church, October 19 in
the chapel of the church. Dr. E.
C. Scott opened the meeting with
prayer.
The program concerned the
new organization of the Women
of the Church which Mrs. George
Breckenbrough, president, des
cribed.
Also taking part on the pro
gram were the four program
chairmen: Mrs. D. O. Rhame,
Mrs. C. W. Copeland, Mrs. Rob
ert Wysor, and Mrs. Hugh Ja
cobs.
At the close of the meeting
