Mr. and Mrs. Roberts of Spar tanburg visited with the Richard Turner’s last week. The Rev. and Mrs. Jimmy Hughes returned to their home in Tennessee, Monday, following a two weeks visit with their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hugh es and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hor ton. While there the Hughes visit ed the Isle of Palms. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tumblin had as their dinner guests Sun day Mrs. Eva Land and the Rev. and Mrs. Wyatt Garrett. A. of the Cross Hill Baptist Church honored Miss Frances Wilkie, bride-elect, with a White Bible service Aug. 17 at the church. Mrs. J. E. Sharpe, Y. W. A. leader read the scrip ture and gave some interesting facts concerning the part that — love has played in marriage since time began. She also told of the part that gifts have had. Each Y. W. A. member pre sented Frances with a beautiful ly wrapped package symbolizing love, joy, growth, sincerity and purity. Miss Betty Cole, presi dent, presented the Bible, tell ing Frances that this book con tained the answer to all our needs and to family advice. She quoted Romans 8:28. For the closing part Miss Cynthia Wilkie sang “O Perfect Love” accompanied at the piano by Miss Frances Cunningham. Miss Eleanor Dial and Mrs. Bell Wightman returned Satur day from a vacation trip which included a tour of Massau and p-oints of interest in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hallman have returned to their home in Springfield following a visit with Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Pinson. Mrs. C.. R. Cunningham and Miss Frances Cunningham at tended a birthday party for Phyllis Frick in Clintbn Satur day afternoon. Phyllis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frick and is 6 years old. Miss Anne Denny of Washing ton, D. C., is visiting her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Denny. Miss Kathryn Denny has return ed to her work in Columbia after spending two weeks with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Segars and family spent last week in New Orleans, La. Mrs. R. A. Baughn of Lynch burg, Va. Mrs. Ralph Hendrix and children Faith Ann and Hugh of Virginia Beach, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. Rush Milam of Green wood have been the recent guests of Mrs. M. F. Workman. Mr. and Mrs. A. B.
