Mrs. Grady Shuler
Columbia — Mrs. Mattie Hol
land Shuler, 67, wife of J. Grady
Schuler of 2636 Broad River
Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, in
Columbia.
A native of Clinton and a
graduate of Presbyterian Col
lege, she taught in public
schools several years. She later
was elementary school super
intendent supervisor for Spar
tanburg and was on the secre
tarial staff of S. C. Tax Com
mission. She was a member of
St. Michael’s Lutheran Church
at Irmo.
Surviving in addition to her
husband are two sisters. Miss
Janie Holland of Columbia and
Mrs. J. P. Calvert of Union.
Funeral services were conduct
ed Thursday at 4 p. m. at St.
Michael’s Lutheran Church by
Rev. Robert Weeks. Burial was
in the church cemetery.

Cross Hill — Mrs. Leila Hill
Boozer, 7*7, wife of Roy C. Booz
er of Vaughnville community
near here, died Wednesday, Aug.
12, at 6 a. m. at a Greenwood
hospital after two months of
illness.
Born at Cross Hill, daughter
of the alte Eli and Mille Good
win Hill, she spent most of her
life in this section and was a
member of Liberty Springs Pres
byterian Church.
Surviving in addition to her
husband are a daughter, Mrs.
Cornelia Headley of Alameda,
Calif.; a son, Oscar Boozer of
Atlanta, Ga.; and a sister, Mrs.
Lucia Jones of Nichols.
Funeral services were conduct
ed Thursday at 4 p. m. at Liberty
Springs Presbyterian Church by
Rev. Roy Coker. Burial was in
the church cemetery.

Military Unit in Reunion Here Past Weekend
A reunion of the old Battery B, 107th Bn., Clinton National Guard
unit which served in World War II, was held here during the weekend.
Sessions were held at the Armory on South Broad Street, and the ban
quet Saturday night at the Presbyterian College dinng hall. Forty-
eight members, with their wives and children, were present from this
area, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Tennesee, Virginia, West Vir
ginia, and Pennsylvania. 120 were present at the banquet. An inter
esting program was arranged for the two-day event. Guest speaker was
South Carolina Adj. Gen. Frank Pinckney.
New officers named were: J. L. Brawley, Joanna, president; R. C.
Prater, Joanna, and C. D. Benjamin, Clinton, vice-presidents; Boyd Holtz-
claw, Clinton, secretary; J. A. Hunnicutt, Joanna, treasurer; Joe Caugh-
man, Clinton, sergeant at arms; O. W. Vincents, Greenwood, historian.
