Mrs. Claude Gil- strap Jr., will be hostess. Kathleen Walber Circle will meet Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Henry King. Mrs. Elledge Campbell of Lau rens is visiting her son, Cleve land Campbell and family. Miss es Cathy and Carol Pace were among those spending the week at Myrtle Beach with the Clinton Horizon group of Camp Fire Girls. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Vanderford and children were recent week end guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Vanderford and Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Smith in Union. Mr. and Mrs. Keith McGee and family with his mother, Mrs. Furman Frady spent the week end at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Julia Thrift of Greenville spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. j jj Pace. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Terrell and Mrs. Mildred Dick erson during the past week and week-end were Rev. and Mrs. B. E. Terrell and family of Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Kate Purcell and Mr. Thomas Means and daugh ter of Greenville. ‘ Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dean attend ed the Dickson reunion, held Sunday at the home of the for mer’s sister, Mrs. Lizzie Dick son in Shelton. Mrs. Virginia Wilson has re turned home from a twe weeks tour of Nova Scotia. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wallace were also on the tour. Mr. and Mrs. Junior McAlister of Greenwood were Sunday visit ors of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lan- ford. Mr. and Mrs. Bo Brown and family and Mrs. Laura Darby visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilkes in Winnsboro, Sunday. Ronnie Brown returned home with Mr. and Mrs. Brown for a weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Satterfield spent the week-end at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Armstrong and family of Newton, N. C., spent Sunday with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Arm strong. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Fellows and daughter of Newberry visit ed Mrs. J. A. Black during the week-end and also visited Mr. Black in Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. Mrs. Black, Mrs. Tommy Black, Danny Black and Walter Cato, visited Mr. Black in the hospital. Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders and sons and Miss Mary Kay Johnston left Monday for a 10 day vacation in Florida. They will visit Mr. and Mrs. Allen Sanders in Stuart, Fla., friends in Lakeland, Fla., and his moth er, Mrs. N. J. Sanders in Palat- ka, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Berry and Mike and Kay of Fork Shoals and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Patterson, “Chuck” and Nancy of Inman were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Berry and Mrs. Patterson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bodie. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Simmons of Greer spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Emmie Thomas. Mrs. Mable Roberts of Foun tain, visited her sister, Mrs. W. L. Motte and Mrs. Mott* on Saturday. She also visited Lar ry Motte who was a patient in Bailey Memorial Hospital. He returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Lawson and Vickie and Mrs. Pauline Lawson visited relatives in Ches ter Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Huffstetter went to Warm Springs, Ga., on last Thursday to accompany their daughter Sandy home. Sandy has been at the Warm Springs Foundation for several weeks. At present the Huffstet- ters are with her parents, Mr.' and Mrs. T. B. Burroughs at Tip Top on the Whitmire Highway. WITH THE SICK Maxie Davis, husband of Mrs. Linda Davis is a patient at Self Memorial Hospital in Green wood. J. A. Black in a patient in Self Memorial Hospital with a broken foot, he received in a fall at his home. Mrs. Cleveland Campbell is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. i Mrs. Marvin Neal was to un dergo surgery this week at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Howard Roach is a pa tient at Bailey Memorial Hospi tal with a broken ankle due to a fall. Mrs. Lewis Stone is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Silas Romines has been a patient at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. Mrs. Louise Frazier is a sur gical patient at Bailey Memo rial Hospital. Crystal Edmunds is ill. CHURCH NEWS Meeting Changed The Ladies’ Auxiliary planned for tonigkthas been postponed until next Thursday evening. No Evening Worship There will be no Sunday eve ning worship services or Life Liners meeting, at the Pente costal Holiness Church this Sun day as the Pentecostal Holiness Church camp meeting is in pro gress at Beach Springs this week and Rev. and Mrs. Roscoe Bry an and others from the church will be attending part of these meetings. Sunday School and morning worship will be held same as usual. REVIVAL PLANNED Revival services are being planned to begin August 30 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church. BAPTIST MEETINGS The Intermediate Think-Nic Social Security Martha F. Pres sly, manager of the Greenwood social secur ity office, stated that through out the nation nearly 19,000,000 people draw over one billion dol lars in social security benefit payments. Many of them filed claims because they understood what the social security people call “Four Times for Action.” Sooner or later. Miss Pressly said, you or someone in your family will need to act in one of these situations. The four times for action are: 1. If a worker in your family dies. Some member of his fam- should contact the office to see if survivor benefits are payable. *. If you are disabled. You should get in touch with our office if you worked on jobs cov ered by social security. 3. When yon near retirement age._ Application for payments may be filed three months in ad vance of retirement age. Even if you don’t plan immediate retire ment you should get informa tion. 4. When yon are 72. If you are not already receiving benefits you may draw even though you are still employed. The office that serves this area is at 619 South Main Street, Greenwood, S. C. meets at 7 p.m. at the church to night (Thursday). The Brotherhood of the church will go to the County Home to conduct services there at 7 p.m SUNBEAMS’ FOCUS WEEK The Sunbeam Band of the Ly dia Baptist Church will observe Focus Week, August 9-15.
