Considerable Damage ai Intersection
Three men were Injured in a one-car wreck at the inter
section of S. C. Highways It and 3M (North Broad St.) Sat
urday at 5:45 a. m. City Policemen Horace Horton and
Chesley Richards, who investigated, identified the men as
Garnette Ginn Alvin South of Whitmire, and James
Motes of Clinton. AD three were taken to Bailey Memorial
Hospital where South and Motes were treated and dismissed.
Ginn, said to be the driver, was listed in fair condition ear
lier this week.
The investigating officers said the vehicle, traveling to
ward the city, went out of control on Highway 72, left the
road on the right side and knocked over a gasoline pump at
the M. B. Hipp Service Station and clipped down four high
way signs. Charges of drunkenness were lodged against
South and Motes, who posted bond, it was stated. Charges
against Ginn await his dismissal from the hospital.—Photo

Mrs. E. S. Corley
Dies On Friday
Mrs. Lillian Clark Corley, 76,
died suddenly Friday night at
her home, 208 North Adair St.,
after a brief illness.
A native of Hickry, N. C.,
she lived in Clinton six years.
Her parents were the late Al
exander W. and Sarah Wilson
Clark. She was a member of
the Clinton ARP Church. She
was the last member of her
immediate family.
Surviving are her husband,
E. S. Corley; a son, George B.
Corley of Clinton; a daughter,
Mrs. Catherine C. Desportes
of Columbia; and three grand
sons.
Funeral service swere con
ducted Sunday at 3:00 p. m.
at Gray Funeral Home by Rev.
J. H. Darr and Dr. C. B. Betts.
Burial was Rosemont ceme
tery
Pallbearers were nephews.
Oscar J. Bolt
Laurens — Oscar Jesse Bolt,
60, of Rt. 3, Laurens, died at his
home Friday at 11:40 a m. after
eight months of illness.
A native and lifelong resident
of Laurens County, son of the
late George H. and Emma Lov
ing Bolt, he was a member
of Chestnut Ridge Baptist
Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Minnie Pitts Bolt: a son, Oscar
J. Bolt Jr, of Laurens; two
daughters, Mrs. Dennon O.
Jones of Taylors and Mrs. Billy
N. Tollison of Savannah, Ga.;
a brother, George W. (Dick)
Bolt of Laurens; a sister Miss
Mary Bolt of Laurens; and
nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were con
ducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at Ken
nedy Mortuary by Rev. F. M.
Julian. Rev. John Thomas Mor
row and Rev. Roger Gallion.
Burial was in Chestnut Ridge
Baptist Church cemetery.
