MAKES DEAN’S LIST
Miss Ruth Holland was on the
deans’ list this past semester
at Blue Mountain College in Blue
Mountain, Mississippi. Miss HoL
land will graduate in June of
this year and has accepted a po
sition as teacher in the English
department of the Louisville
Kentucky School system.
Mrs. John Cerney and son of
Atlanta, Ga., visited over the
week-end with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Blakely Tribble.
Miss Shirley Ann Timmons of
Columbia College visited her
mother, Mrs. S. A. Timmons
over the weekend.
RETURN FROM TRIP
Dr. and Mrs- George Blalock
returned Sunday from several
days visit to Puerto Rico and
the Virgin Islands. They left
last Saturday from Miami and
flew to San Juan for several
days, and from there visited in
the Islands of St. Croix and St.
Thomas.
SPENT WEEK-END IN VA.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Arnold and
Misses Jean and Kathryn Arnold
were week-end visitors in Wil
liamsburg, Va., with the Ar
nold’s daughter, Miss Marjorie
Arnold and Mrs. Arnold’s sister,
Mrs. L. W. Rawl and Mr. Rawl.
Accompanying them was Billy
Pitts, student at Wofford Col
lege, who was Marjorie’s escort
on Friday evening when she was
presented along with other
pledges of Delta, Delta, Delta
sorority at the College of William
and Mary. Also making the trip
was Henry Lovette of Kingstree,
a Presbyterian College student
who was the guest of friends at
William and Mary.

Mrs. Grover Page returned to
her home in Louisville, Ky., to
day, having spent several days
here with her sister and brother-
in-law Mr. and Mrs. Rhett
Adair.
Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Katzs-
burg of Myrtle Beach spent the
week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Har
ry Baldwin.
Keith Cauley, student at Clem-
son College, visited with his par

of Whitmire have moved to
Clinton and are living on the
farm formerly occupied by the
late Huey T. Bonds and family.
Mr. Henderson is connected with
the Bonds Lumber Company and
Mrs. Henderson is employed at
Whitten Village. Their daughter,
Gayle, is a student at the Uni
versity of South Carolina, Co
lumbia. They are, Baptists.’
