Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bennett of Cihcago, 111., spent a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard, the past week. Mrs. Gregg Rowe and Gregg, Jr. of Belton were'Sunday visi tors of Mrs. Virginia Wilson and C. J. Blackwell. Mrs. Ruth McPherson of Ches- tec^and Mr. and Mrs. Willey Ter rell of Abbeville spent Saturday with their parents Mr. anti Mrs. W. P. Terrell and sister, Mrs. Mildred Dickerson. Nathan Gilstrap of Clemson College spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claucfe Gilstrap. Mr. and Mrs. J. *A. Ball of Greenville were recent visitors of his sister, Mrs. H. W.. Williams and Mr. Williams. Mrs. W. T. Wigley, Miss Peggy Wigley and Mitchell Wigley, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Martin, Mrs. Martin Harvey, Ed Davis and E. L. Winchester with Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Winchester of Charlotte, N. C., were in Great Falls Sun day for the funeral services of Joseph T. Wigley. Mr. 1 Wigley was the father-in-law of Mrs. W. T. Wigley. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Roberts were in Charlotte, N. C., on Fri day and Saturday. Mr. Roberts attended a meeting of the Board of Governors' the S. T. A. on Friday evening and both attend ed a luncheon on Saturday. Miss Kay Roberts of Columbia was home for the week-end. WITH THE SICK Billy Willard is able to be out after a week’s illness.. W. P. Terrell is improving aft er several weeks of illness. ‘ Mrs. Joe Corley was ill the past week, Sidney Oakley is a sur gical patient at Bailey Memo rial Hospital. Rev. Harry Kemp of Walhalla is the visiting preacher. Rev. Frank Pearson, pastor of the host church extends a cordial invitation to the public to these and other services at the Church of God. BAPTIST S. S. MEETING, SUPPER PLANNED There will be a Sunday School planning meeing and covered dish supper at the Lydia Baptist Church on Tuesday evening, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. All Sunday School Teachers and officers with their families are invited to attend. This in cludes class officers also. The Intermediate G.A.’s -nmII meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the church. MRS. THORNBURG GIVEN FAREWELL PARTY Mrs. F. L. Thornburg, who moved to Shannon, Ga., on Fri day was honored on Thursday evening, when Mrs. J. C. Estes, Mrs. Frank Goss, Mrs. Raymond Wyatt and Mrs. Clyde Trammell entertained with a farewell party at the home of the latter. Several entertaining games enjoyed after which the host esses served refreshments of home-made chocolate cake, sand wiches, cheese biscuits and po- toto chips with cold drinks to the twenty-five friends who came to bid Mrs. Thornburg goodbye. She was presented many gifts from her friends. JOSEPH THOMAS WIGLEY Joseph Thomas Wigley, 82 died Saturday morning at his home In Charlotte, N. C. Funeral serv ices were held Sunday afternoon at the Second Baptist Church in Great Falft, S. C. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Boyd B. Seawell of Char lotte and four grandchild rep. Mr. Wigley had spent most of the past 8 years at Lydia Mills, with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. W. T. Wigley. PINK AND BLUE PARTY ' -Mrs. Jack Wehunt, Mrs. Clay ton Reeca, Mrs. Oliver Estes and Mrs. Jmmy South were hostesses on Friday evening at a "Pink and Blue party honoring Mrs. James Estes at the Lydia Community Building. A number o f appropriate games were enjoyed by the ladies present after which the hostesses served delicious party refresh ments. Gifts, presented to Mrs. Estes were opened and passed for all to admire.. RECENT BRIDE HONORED The Clinton Mills Community Building was the scene of a love ly party honoring Mrs. Jimmy Sanders, a recent bride. Around thirty friends enjoyed Bride’s Bingo and other appro priate games. Prizes won by the guests were presented to Mrs. Sanders. —^ The hostesses, several co-work ers with the honoree, served a salad plate with wedding cook ies, punch and coffee. Mrs. Sanders, the former Miss Judy Ellis was presented many nice gifts of china, silver, linens and other household articles. WOMAN’S CLUB TONIGHT The Lydia Woman’s Club will meet Thursday (tonight) at 7:30 p.m. at the Lydia Community Building. All members are asked to be present.
