C., and other points of Interest In the mountains. Little Billy Clardy of Green ville, spent last week wity his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Abercrombie. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clardy, came for the week-end and to accompany Billy home. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis and L. F. were visitors in Green ville: and Fountain Inn during the past week. Bagwell and Linda, Mr, and Mrs. Jack Howard and Rickie, Mrs. William Millwood and chil dren of Chester; Mrs. Cora King} Mrs. Effie Vaughn, Mr. and Mrs. Jodie Clem of Greenville; Mrs. Jessie Austin and Wallace Wilbanks of Union; Mr. and Mrs. David Wilbanks of New- pot, Tenn. Mrs. Lillie Belle Miller was in Abbeville on Wednesday of last week for the funeral ser vices of a nephew, Kenneth Gil lespie. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Burdette and grandchildren, Terry and Paula Jo Fletcher, of Green wood, were recent guests of the formers’ brother and sister-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Bur dette. Mrs. Cecil Lanford, Mrs. Nou- na Gilliam and son of Whitmire, visited Mrs. Lanford’s sister, Mrs; Alma Harvey, on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mathis visited his father, Pete Mathis, a patient in the General Hospital in Spartanburg, and Mrs. Math is’ son, J. D. Revis, also in Spartanburg on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Southerlin and Miss Joan Southerlin of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. J. H. Seay. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Kuyken- dall and Liz Ann Wright were guests of Mrs. Kuykendall’s sis ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Richburg in Camden. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cooper and family spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Cooper, and Mrs. George Wade in Great Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper will be in Charles ton this week-end attending the Parents Day activities at The Citadel, where their son, Pete, is a freshman. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Huffstetler and Misses Sandy HuffsteUer and Pam_ Brown spent Sunday in the muontains of North Caro lina. They enjoyed the snow on Grandfather Mountain. Miss Marcelle Abercrombie returned home Sunday after a month’s visit in MiUedgevflte, Ga., with relatives. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Abercrom bie, went to Milledgeville Sunday to accompany her home. Mrs. G. C. Parrish, Sr., Mrs. Tommy Husky and Mrs. Ed Wells, Jr., were in Augusta, Ga., on Sunday of last week to visit their granddaughter and niece, Miss Carol Parrish, in the hos pital there. Friends will be glad to know that Miss Parrish re turned to her home In Aiken on Friday. She was injured in a fall from a horse October 27. Mrs. James Seay and Mrs. Tommy Seay and Jerry of Green ville, visited Mrs. J. H,„§eay and Miss Feroline Seay Sunday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sharp- ton, Jr., and family of Savannah, Ga., visited her mother, Mrs. W. E. Johnson, and sister, Miss Mary Johnson, on Friday. They were enroute home after visiting Mr. Sharpton’s father at Oteen, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Drake and family of Greenville, were Friday supper guests of the for mers’ mothre, Mrs. H. W. Wil liams, and Mr. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Williams visited Mr. and Mrs. Edward Williams in Newberry on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Revis were visitors in Jonesville Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Spencer. Mrs. Billy Willard visited her mother, Mrs. Verner Dees, at Slef Memorial Hospital in Green wood Sunday. Friends are happy to know that Mrs. Dees returned home Monday. Miss lone Neal of Houston, Texas, was to leave Wednesday night from the Greenville-Spar- tanburg airport for her home after visiting her brother, J. B. Neal, and Mrs. Neal, and her pa rents, Mr. .and Mrs. Sam Neal, in Laurens. The J. B. Neals spent Sunday with the Sam Neals. Mrs. Margaret Hope and chil dren, Mrs. Myrtle Womble and children and Mrs. Sally Dalton of Chester, Mrs. Rosa Allen of Columbia, and Mrs. Thelma Howell of near Clinton, visited Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Dalton Sun day. Mrs. Charles Harvey, Billy and Ann and Mrs. Buddy Zan ders and Mike visited Mr. Har vey in the Veterans Hospital in Columbia Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hinson and family spent Sunday with Mrs. Hinson’s mother, Mrs. John Dickerson, in Spartanburg. Mrs. Dickerson returned home i with her daughther for an overnight stay.—— —— Mr. and Mrs. Bo Brown and family and Mrs. Bessie Brown visited relatives in Greenwood on Monday. CIRCLE TO MEET The Kathleen Walker Circle of the Lydia Baptist Church Wom an’s Missionary Society will meet Wednesday at 1 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Benny Tucker, 54 Beech Street, with Mrs. Lena Revis Mathis as hostess. WITH THE SICK Mrs. Lois Webb is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. R. E. Whitmire is home following a stay at the Charles ton Medical Center. Harry Templeton is able to be out after several days illness and stay at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. Mrs. Verner Dees returned home Monday after several days lilness at Self Memorial Hospitla in Greenwood. Rev. Roscoe Bryan is home after on illness at Self Memo- riol Hospital, Greenwoods Mrs. J. D. Cul bertson of Greenwood, gathered at the Lydia Community Build ing Sunday for a surprise birth day dinner in honor of Mrs. Grover Culbertson.
