Mrs. Seose Gives Circle Program The evening circle of St. John’s Lutheran Church met' Monday evening at the home of Mrs. J. V. Stilwell, Sr. Mrs. T. M. Sease presented an interesting program on “Christ Is Our Redeemer,” assisted by several members. Following the program the hostess served a dainty salad plate. - Friends Honored With Bridge Party Mrs. Henderson Pitts and Mrs. Roy Casque entertained friends on Wednesday afternoon with a bridge party at the home of the former on West Maple Street. Three tables were arranged for play, with fall flowers making the setting. Mrs. Henry Young and Mrs. Ansel Godfrey were high score winners receiving prizes. Following seveal progressions of bridge, the hostesses served a salad plate with cookies and spiced tea. Garden Club To Appear On TV The Carolina Wren Garden Club will be guests on Telescope over station WFBC-TV, channel 4, in Greenville today (Nov. 7). The program is on the air from 1:00 to 1:30 p. m. Mrs. Fred Holcombe will represent the club on the program. Lake House Party Honors Miss Asbill On the occasion of her 16th birthday. Miss Diane Asbill was honored with a party at the As bill cottage on Lake Greenwood Saturday, October 26. Camp Fire Girls entertained the seven-year-old boys and girls of the Flrit Pres- byterian Church Monday, Octo ber 28, in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Mrs. Robert Vance and Mrs. W. G. King, Jr., are leaders of this Camp Fire group. Following refreshments, the Camp Fire Girls taught the boys and girls many new games and songs. Miss Hill To Be Wed Christmas Mr. and Mrs. James H. Hill of 210 Caldwell St., announce the engagement of their daughter, Beverly Kay, to Maxie Dean Da vis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis of Lydia Mill. The wedding has been set for December 25 at Davidson Street Baptist Church. Miss Hill is a 1963 graduate df Clinton High School. Mr. Davis, a 1962 graduate of Clinton High Scholo, is stationed at Norfolk, Va., where he will complete his Naval enlistment. Campbells Give Pre-Game Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Ed Campbell entertained friends at dinner Saturday evening at their home on Calvert Avenue, prior to the Presbyterian College homecom ing festivities. As guests arrived, they were invited into the den where hot cider and hors d’oevures were served. Dinner was served buffet style from the dining table and guests were seated in the living room and den at appointed tables. Yellow chrysanthemums along with football on tee and football shoes decorated the buffet table. The bride-elect graduated from Forman University in June of 1963. At present she is teaching la the Greenwood City Schools. / Mr. Gasque is a student at Erskine College, Due West, where he is majoring in physical education. He is currently doing student coaching at Dixie High School In Due West. The wedding will he an event of January 25 at the First Baptist Church of Clinton. Halloween Party At Davidson Street Baptist Church The Training Union of the Da vidson Street Baptist Church held a Halloween social on last Thursday evening Octobre 31. Every one was dressed in cos- tumes for the occasion. Games were under the eladership of the training union director, Brevard Patterson and Rev. Floyd Hel lams. Prizes were given for the best dressed. In the adults category, prizes were given to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bagwell Jr., Mrs. Maltee Burges, and Mrs. Joe Campbell. In the children’s group, prizes were presented to Margaret Ann Hellams and A1 Webb. The social hall was decorated in typical Halloween fashion. Af ter an hour of fun, the group gatheed around for refreshments of cookies, candy, and soft drinks. Y Miss Gaines Is PC Queen Presiding as Homecoming Queen over the festivities at Presbyterian College last Saturday was Melinda Gaines of Clinton. A junior at PC this year, she was chosen from among six other finalists from six colleges by a vote of PC students. Miss Gaines is shown here during halftime ceremonies of the PC-Wofford football game, at which time her selection was announced.
