BIRTHDAY PARTY
Mrs. Joe Caughman honored
her daughter Jonni on her 0th
birthday with a birthday party
held Saturday afternoon the 12th
of October. Sixteen guests en
joyed an afternoon of games and
fun. Kathy Ficklin was the win
ner of the game prizes. Birthday
horns and umbrellas were given
as favors. Refreshments of ice
cream and birthday cake were
served the guests.
Susan Major celebrated her 8th
birthday Tuesday October 8th, as
a guest on “Monty’s Mickey
Mouse Club” at a Greenville TV
station. Accompaning Susan as
her guests were Beth and Robin
Neighbors, Donna Lee, Dan Ma
jor and Ronald Bentley. Mrs. G
H. Major and Mrs. Frank Lee
carried the children to Green
ville. *

on October 7th. The Blackweld-
ers have four other boys. The
grandparents are M^. and Mrs.

announce the birth of a son, Wil
liam Ray on October 13th at Bai-
lye Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cau-
ble is the former Jean McGee.
The Caubles have two daughters.
CHURCH NEWS
The Elizabeth Stmt Church of
God Ladies Auxiliary will have a
chicken stew sale Friday after
noon at the church. Orders will
be delivered.
The Laurens County Baptist
Association held their fall meet
ings Wednesday, October 16th
today, Thursday October 17th at
the Union Baptist Church and
Rabun Creek Baptist Church.
The association is composed of
forty-one churches and forty
pastors. Rev. J. W. Spillers,
pastor of the Calvary Baptist is
moderator.
The Fire Baptized Church on
Beauguard street held their Home
coming and singing on Sunday
October 13th. Dinner was served
picnic style. Rev. Alfred McLain
of Honea Path serves as pastor.

going especially for a family
