Mrs. Perry Moore entertained
the members of her bridge club
Thursday afternoon at her home
on East Maple Street.
Two tables were arrange^ for
the games amid a setting of
fall flowers.
Following several progressions

A dessert course was served.
Roberts-Emerson
Rehearsal Party
Mr. and Mrs. Dave H. Roberts
entertained members of the
Roberts-Emerson wedding party
and out of town guests with an
informal party immediately fol
lowing the rehearsal Friday
evening, October 4.
Arrangements of roses were
used throughout the receiving
rooms.
Punch and other party dainties
were served in the dining room.
Special guests included the
groom’s grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Stuart Leonard of Orange
City, Fla.

To Study Club
On Wednesday afternoon, Octo
ber 2, the Study Club met at the
home of Mrs. Thornwell Dunlap
on the Greenwood Highway.
Roses adorned the living room
and centered the dining room ta
ble.
For the first meeting of the
year, Mrs. H. E. Sturgeon re
viewed “Five Petticoats On Sun
day,’’ by Mrs. Caroline Coleman.
During the afternoon a salad
course, coffee and cookies were

Church Kindergarten
To Close Friday
On Friday, October 11, the
First Presbyterian Church Kin
dergarten will be closed while
the teachers, Mrs. Jasper Row
land and Mrs. Frank Cauley, are
attending the state meeting of the
Association of Children Under
Six” to be held at the Aldersgate
Methodist Church in Sumter.

the department of Early Child
hood Education at Florida State
College in Tallahassee, will ad
dress the group.

monthly meeting at the Parish

of Psalms, with Mrs. Bailey

dent, announced that the College
Workers Conference is to be held
on Octiber 17. The committee in
charge of arangements includes

Huff, and Mrs. R. Michael Tur
ner.
The fall ingathering of the
United Thanks Offering of the
Women of the church is to be
held October 23 at 10:00 a. m.
at a service of holy communion
at the church.
Members are asked to attend
the annual meeting of the North
western District October 28 in
Greenville.
The November meeting of the
Women of the Church is to be a
business meeting for the election
of officers and filing of annual
reports.

Wedding Party
Mrs. George Huguley and
Mrs. Claude Crocker entertained
Miss Barbara Roberts and her
wedding attendants with a
bridesmaids’ breakfast Saturday
morning at 11:30 at the home
of the former on Spruce Street.
After guests were received,
they were invited into the din
ing room where breakfast had
been appointed in buffet style.
The dining room table was
^overlaid with a white lace cloth
and centered with a pink rose
arangement and pink tapers.
Guests were seated in the fam
ily room at individual tables
decorated with small arrange
ments of garden flowers.
Following breakfast, Miss
Roberts presented each of her
atetndants with gifts. The
hostesses in return presented
Miss Roberts with a wedding
gift.
