Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Boyce and Cherry of Aiken, were week-end visitors of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mason Rowland. Mr. and Mrs. Vestus Wehunt and children visited relatives in Anderson over the week-end and attended the Clemson-N. C. State football game on Saturday at Clemson. Mrs. Sid Ingles of California, spent last week with Mrs. Irene Kelly. Rev. and Mrs. Bill Dyches and daughters of Lugoff, were Fri day overnight guests of the lat ter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Whitmire spent the week-end recently in Atlanta, Ga., with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Slayton. Mrs. Willie O’Dell and Miss Kitty Moseley were Saturday visitors in Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Prater spent last week in Batesburg with Mr. and Mrs. Brunson Hartley and attended the wed ding of Miss Elaine Hartley and William Shepard. Mrs. Frances Giles of Seneca, spent the week-end with Miss Ruth Hair and attended home coming at the First Baptist Diane Amick of White Rock, Church. spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Killian. On Sun day, Mr. and Mrs. Killian visit ed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Killian in White Rock, and Diane returned home with them. Mrs. Hazel Moore and Mrs. Ruth A. Thomas were Sunday visitors of their mother, Mrs. W. E. Adams, in West Columbia. Friends will be interested to know that AC1 and Mrs. Vernon Deberry and daughter have been transferred to Long Beach, Cal. They left last Monday after vis iting the latter’s mother, Mrs. Ruth a Thomas, for a few weeks. WHITMIRE REUNION The family of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Whitmire held the annual re union Sunday at the Hurricane community center. Those from out of town attend ing were: Mrs. Daisy Whitmire, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Whitmire, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Whitmire, Mr. and Mrs. Don Whitmire, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. OBSERVES HOMECOMING The First Baptist Church held its annual homecoming Sunday at the Joanna club house. Dinner was served at 1 o’clock. During the morning worship hour, charter members were rec ognised and the chufch history was ipad by Mrs. It. L. Fran cis. Solos were given by Brace Galloway of Trenton, Mrs. Ethel Rowe Riser of Greenville, and Mias Eugenia Byars. Among out of town guests at tending the occasion were: Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Herbert Thomas announce the birth of a son, James Herbert Jr. (“Ja mie”), on October 3 at Self Me morial hospital in Greenwood. Mrs. Thomas is the former Miss Betty Hightower of Lockhart. They have another child, a daughter.
