Ken TrammeU HN of Bethes- da, Md., spent the week-end with Kathy, Steve and Monty of Bell Garden, Calif., are visiting the former’s sister, Mrs. Herman Phipps and Mr. Phipps. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. James R. Parris and son Mike of Enoree visited the Phipps family. Mrs. R. F. Longshore of New berry. spent Saturday with her sister, Mrs. I. S. Parker. She also visited her brother Fred Bodie in the hospital. On Satur day evening Mr. and Mrs. Park er and accompanied Mrs. Long shore home. Delmar Lawson is spending the week at Myrtle Beach along with others of the FFA of Clinton High School. T. Sgt. Barry McLendon, U. S. Air Force of Sunnyvllle, Calif., and Miss Irene Fuller of Calif., and England are visiting his mother, Mrs. SteUa McLendon and sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bailey. W. M. U. PICNIC ENJOYED The Lydia Baptist W.M.U. en joyed a picnic at the Baptist as sembly on Lake Greenwood on last Thursday evening. Around 45 were present. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Spradley, caretakers of the Assembly Grounds were invited guests. Jimmy Braswell was driver of the Clinton-Lydia Recreation bus. WITH THE SICK Bill Gaskins, son of Mr, and Mrs. Glenn Gaskins underwent an eye operation on Tuesday of last week at the Newberry hos pital. He is now recuperating at his home. Mrs. Mark Windsor has re turned to her home and is im proving, after an illness at Bai ley Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Motte have been ill with flu. Maxie Reeder was \ patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital the past week. Nathan Gilstrap has been con fined to his home due to illness. Mrs. PoUy Lawson is a patient at the Bailey Memorial Hospital due to a broken ankle received in a fall at home. CLASS PARTY AN MEETING The Willing Workers Sunday School Class of Lydia Baptist Church met for their regular monthly meeting and social on Thursday July 25. After the business session a so cial hour was enjoyed. Games were directed by Mrs. ,C, „ R,, Kuykendall after which party refreshments were served to the ladies. Mrs. Fred Mathis and Mrs. W. Stokes are glad he was able to return home Wednesday after being a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital for seven months. Mrs. OUie Irvin has been a patient at Self Menforial Hospital where she underwent treatment but friends are glad she is at home again now. Mrs. C. R. Cunningham has been confined to her home for several weeks due io illness. Friends hope she will soon be able to be out again.
