Adair Jr. and daughter, Mary returned 1* Mon day from a weeks stay at Windy Hill Beach. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Rhett P. Adair over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. John Page and children of Little Mountain and Miss Cecilia Page of Char lotte, N. C. Miss Page remained for a week’s visit with her grand parents. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Abner and family and Miss Susanne Watkins are spending this week at Windy Hill. Miss Anita Kaninsky of Savan nah, Ga., is visiting her friend Miss Beverly Muller. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mathis of Spartanburg were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Nabors over the weekend. WITH THE SICK Friends of Mrs. Gus Hollings worth will be interested to know she is a patient at Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta, Mrs. Paul Stanley and child ren, Susan and Walton, of Harts- ville visited the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Neighbors over the weekend. Sunday guests of Mrs. Elliott Hall were her sons and family, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Hall, Jr., of Greenville, and their daugh ter, Mrs. T. C. Roland and children of Rockville, Md. Also Dr. William H. Hall and chil dren of Greenville. Mrs. Ralph R. Blakely and Miss Florence Blakely of Dur ham, N. C., were past week end guests of Miss Iona Blake ly and Aldine Blakely. Mrs. J. I. Copeland of Rich mond, Va., is visiting her daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Neighbors. Mrs. Fred Scott and Mrs. At- tis Todd spent the past week in Hendersonville and Asheville, N. C. touring points of interest. Mrs. Jasper Rowland, Mrs. T. R. Giles, Mrs. L.-W. Warren and Mrs. B. F. Wingard, spent sev eral days last week in Hender sonville, N. C. an^T attended the Flat Rock Playhouse. Mrs. B. B. Ballard, Billy Bal lard, Miss Kate Milam and Lykes Henderson Jr. all of this city and Mr. and Mrs. James Leaman of Whitmire left Sunday for a ten day tour through East ern Canada and New England. Enroute they will visit Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Milam in Ridgewood, N. J. Mrs. Fred Adams of Raleigh, N. C. spent last week with her father. The Johnsons and Mrs. Austin Chand ler accompanied Laurie home and while there visited a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Bryant. Mr. and Mrs. William F. Mul- liss of Charlotte, N. C. and Tom Woods of Baltimore, Md. recent ly visited Dr. and Mrs. D. J. Woods. Friends of J. Gillette Simpson will be glad to know he continues to improve at the Self Memorial Hospital „in. Grtenwood. _ Mr. and Mrs. Leland Young and children, Sohpia, and Delle are spending several days at Crescent Beach. Cpl. Jim Chaney of Cherry Point, N. C. was here this past weekend visiting with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Carl Chaney. Mrs. John Addison and daugh ter, Elaine will spend the week end at Blowing Rock, N. C. Mrs. Attls Todd spend the weekend in Greenville visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Smith and son, Phil, along with friend, Danny Jones spent several days last week in the mountains. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Reid and children of Columbia visited the latter’s mother, Mrs. Fred Scott over the weekend. D. G. Creighton and Harry Bouknight represented Broad Street Methodist Church at the Southeastern Jurisdiction Lay men’s Conference at Lake Juna- luska last weekend. Mrs. Gary Holcombe spent sev eral days recently with her broth er and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Howard of Greenville.^ Mrs. Morris Seymour ahd sohs spent the past weekend in Bow man, Ga., visiting with relatives and going especially to attend the Hall’s reunion in Lavonia, Ga. Sydney Hartzog, Johnny Can non and John Teague were re cent visitors in North Carolina. They enjoyed sightseeing in Boone, Linville Caverns, and at Grandfather Mountain. While away they also visited friends, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Yearout in Waynes boro, Va. . Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Milam were Mack Crump and William Milam of Hockory, N. C. Miss Joan Livingston, Danny Roggi and Robert Harling of Charleston were guests this week end of Miss Jean Nelson and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harwood Nelson. Also visiting the Nelsons was their son Bill Nelson of Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest A. Dun can and two sons, Aaron, 14, and Kenneth, 16, are making their home in the Smallwood Develop ment. Duncan is with the Allied Security Insurance Company and was transferred here from Green ville. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pitts have returned from their wed ding trip and are in their new home on Shands Street. Mrs. H. M. Geer has returned to her home in Valdosta, Ga., after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Smith. Mrs. J. B. Copeland of Lees burg, Fla., spent last week with her aunts, Miss Lily Yarborough and Mrs. C. D. Yarborough. Her husband was here for the week end and accompanied her home. Also visiting the Yarboroughs during the week were Misses Catherine and Frances Yar borough and Mrs. L. D. Yar borough of Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs. George Plunkett and sons, Albert and Taylor, of Conyers, Ga., spent Sunday with Mrs. Plunkett’s brother and sis ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Abrams. They were accompan ied home by their daughter, Lourene who had been visiting her uncle and aunt, and Mrs. Plunkett's mother, Mrs. Estelle Abrams who will spend some time in Conyers. Captain and Mrs. Richard Luk- stat—and children of Kokomo, Ind., will arrive this week-end for a few days visit with Mrs. Luk- stat’s mother, Mrs. H. D. Payne. They will also go to Daytona Beach, Fla., where they will visit Capt. Lukstat’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lukstat. Mr. and Mrt. D. L. Moore and son, Ronney Moore of Salt- ville, Va., spent the week-end with their daughter and sister, Miss Genevieve Moore and also Mrs. W. C. Shealy. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nettles, Mary and Charlie Nettles and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oglesby of Charlotte, N. C., spent Sunday in Charleston with Mr. and Mrs. Heyward Nettles. Mr. and Mrs. James G. Mon roe and daughter, Lily, of Latta have returned home following a visit with Mrs. Monroe’s sister and brother, Miss Iona Blakely and Aldine Blakely. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oglesby will be interested to know they are moving to Char lotte, N. C., from Los Angeles, Calif., where they have been re siding. Mrs. Oglesby, the former Miss Rose Moore Nettles, has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nettles and Oglesby has beep joining her here cm weekends. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burnett and Mrs. R. H. Brown have re turned from a vacation stay in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the Great Smokies and other points of in terest. They were also guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Compton in Barnardsville, N. C. Visiting Maggie Valley and points of interest in the moun tains several days last week were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Thomas and their daughter, Mrs. L. A. Odom, and children, Linda, Amy, and John Thomas, of Wilmington, N. C., who are spending two weeks here. ATTEND WORKSHOP Miss Eloise Miller, Mrs. Shir ley Timmons and Herman Jack- son of the high school faculty, and Mrs. R. P. Wilded of the junior high faculty, attended the guidance workshop at the Ocean Forest Hotel at' Myrtle Beach last week. The workshop is spon sored by the State Department of Education. Mrs. Fred Burnett, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burnett and chil dren, Chocky and Joan, have re turned from Fort Myers, Fla., where they visited Mrs. Charles Burnett’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Wingate. Mrs. William R. Hill and son are spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Davis R. Holland, while Mr. Hill is train ing with the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Streling A. Pitts, Jr., and daughter, Barbara, are vacationing this week at Daytona Beach, Fla., and other points of interest. HOSPITAL PATIENT Friends of Noland Suddeth will be interested to know he is a patient at the Medical College Hospital in Charleston where he will undergo eye surgery on Fri day. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin S.
