Social Security
» Miss Martha Pressly, District
Manager for Social Security, re
cently called attention to the
“Four Times For Action,” when
people should contact their so-
, cial security office. The first
( time is when you have a dis
ability that keeps you from
working. The second time for
action is when you reach retire
ment age. Even though you don’t
retire, it’s to your advantage to
make sure you have all the in
formation you need about your
benefit rights.
And at'72, even if you’re still
working, a visit to your social
security office might pay off.
You can collect insurance at age
72, no matter how much money
you’re making.
The fourth time for action is
after the death of a person whose
wort was covered by Social Se
curity. Some number of the fam
ily should inquire promptly, to
learn If survivors benefits are
payable.
Miss Pressly said her office
would be happy to answer any
question cononming the law and
warned against accepting “curb-
stone” advice.
