Stewart left today for a week’s visit with friends and relatives in Saluda. Mrs. Irvin Ford, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Oherne left Tuesday far their home In Avon Park, Fla., after visiting the former’s mother, Mrs. Eugene Hitt. Mrs. Jack Seabrook and Bliss Sarah Ann Seabrook of Mount Pleasant, were guests during the week-end of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Horne and Bill Horne. Joining them on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Seabrook, Jr., of Pickens. MOVE TO FAYETTEVILLE Sgt. and Mrs. Marvin E. Dun bar and family left Saturday fof Fayetteville, N. C., where they will make their home. Sgt. Dun bar is stationed at Fort - Bragg, N. C., with the Seventh Special Forces. Miss Karen White of Aiken, is spending some time here with her grandmother, Mrs. O. B. King. AT BAILEY MEMORIAL Friends of Mrs. S. A. Pitts will be interested to know she is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Mimnaugh were Mr. and Mrs. David Crenshaw- of Ander son. Mrs. E. F. Culbreath has re turned to her home in Charlotte, N. C., after spending several weeks with her mother, Mrs O. I. Sheely. Recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Rhett P. Adair were Mrs. A. M. McDougall of Augusta, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bo land and son, Wade, of Cordele, Ga. AT GREENVILLE GENERAL Friends of Walter L. Ramage will be interested to know he is a patient at the Greenville Gen eral hospital. Mrs. Rhett P. Adair Is con valescing at home following several days stay at Self Me morial Hospital in Greenwood. Mrs. George Brockenbrough and Mrs. Robert Wysor will leave tomorrow for a week’s stay with the former’s sister, Mrs. George White, in Blowing Rock, N. C. Mrs. Robert Wysor, in, is spending this week at Montreat, N. C., where she is attending a school of music. Her children, Sarah Lynn and Robbie, will Join her on the week-end and they will be guests of Mrs. Joseph Gettys in her Montreat home. Mr. and Mrs. John Mimnaugh and son, Lanty, spent the past week at Lake Murray with Mr. Mimnaugh’s aunt, Mrs. Grover Richey. Visiting recently with their grandmother, Mrs. Marie Sing- ley, were West and Patricia San ders of Greensboro, N. C. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Cole of Athens, Ga., spent the past week-end with the latter’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Winn. Mrs. James F. King has re turned to her home in Arling ton, Va., after a two weeks visit with her mother and sister, Mrs. J. Will Leake and Mrs. R. P. Hamer. Mrs. Howard Watkins and daughter, Suzanne, left Tuesday for a visit with the former’s father and sister, H. M. Reese and Mrs. Max L. Harrelson, in Rutherfordton, N. C. ATTENDING CAMP SKYUKA Clinton girls attending Camp Skyuka near Columbus, N. C., are Gail Smith, daughter of Mr.,and Mrs. Milford Smith; Ginger Crocker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crocker; and Ginger Gault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Gault. Pam Youngblood spent last week in Columbia visiting her great-grandmother, Mrs: Mary E. Youngblood. On Sunday they were joined by Pam’s father, T. M Youngblood, and her sisters, Shaun, Karen and Tilia, who accompanied her home. Also accompanying the Youngbloods home for a visit was Mrs. Youngbloods’ mother, Mrs. D. J. Young of Orlando, Fla. Cynthia Turner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Turner, is convalescing following a tonsil- ectomy at Bailey Memorial Hos pital Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Winchester Mc Daniel and daughter, Eunice, and granddaughter, Mary Jo Froran, of Modoc, were guests of Mrs. N. W. McDaniel over the week end. Mrs. Eugene Stockman and children, Randy and Jimmy, spent the' week-end in Winston- Salem, N. C., with Mr. Stock- man, who is attending fummer school at Wake Forest under the National Science Institute pro gram. Mrs. C. A. Boling, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gosnell and son, Larry, of Greenville, Mrs. Olus Stewart and son, Billy of Six Mile were week-end guests of Mrs; Bolings and Mrs. Stewart’s sister, Mrs. J. L. Tinman and Mr. Tinman. Friends of Cynthia Turner will be interested to know she is at home convalescing from a tonsil- ectomy, Tuesday morning, at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Gary Holcomb and his sons, Brent and Barry and Frankie Gaston have returned from a deep sea fishing trip at Little River. Mrs. William Young and chil dren are visiting relatives in An derson. Mrs. Marvin Poole attended the Baldwin reunion in Gray Court recently. Mrs. Hugh Young is vacation ing a few days in Winston Salem, N. C. Mrs. Annie Bell Brown and Mrs. Marvin Poole spent several days recently with their brother, J. A. Poole and Mrs. Poole in Dunn, N. C. Visiting last week with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Plaxico, Jr. were Mrs. Plaxico’s sitter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Willard and children of Dublin, Ga. The Rev. and Mrs. Roland F. Chandler and children, Susan, Ellen, Billy and Bob of Eliza beth, N. J. spent last Tuesday with the Rev. Chandler’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oren F. Beaty, coning especial ly for a visit before Susan’s leav ing for England where she will study at the University erf Exter. Mrs. Paul Muller and daugh ter, Beverly, will return today from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Brown and other Mends in Savannah, Ga. Mrs. Oren F. Beaty and son Mike, and Ray Chmufler of Ab beville, visited Mr. Chandler’s mother, Mrs. Charlie Chandler in Darlington this past weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sowers are spending two weeks at their cottage at Bat’s Cave, N. C. Wallace Boyd is spending Lbs summer at Lsnox, Mass., where is snopLoyed at a summer re sort. t Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Holland spent the week-end at Mt. Pleas ant with Mrs. Holland’s sister, Mrs. Gene Brown and Mr. Brown. They were accompanied by their niece Ginger Brown, who had been spending the past two weeks with them and other relatives. Mrs. George R. Holland, Mrs. J. Platte Prather, Mrs. Joe Land and their sister, Mrs. G. W. Gibson of Swannanoa, N. C„ are spending this week at the summer cottage of the former’s daughter, and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe S. Hagins at Lake Secession near Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. O. T. McDaniel and daughter, Ruth Ann, of Fay etteville, N. C., spent the week end with the former’s , mother, Mrs. N. W. McDaniel and other relatives. IN FLORIDA Mr. and Mrs. Tom B. Cooper are spending the week in Pen sacola, Fla., with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thom B. Cooper, Jr. Kay and Tony Bagley of* Bel vedere are spending this week with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Hamp McDaniel. Horace Payne, who is attend ing summer school at St. An drews in Laurinburg, N. C., spent the week-end with his mother. IN HAWAII Miss '-Jo Ellen Roberts, of the ThornweB staff, left Greenville by plane Monday for a two weeks vacation in Hawaii. Mrs. Carlton Winn spent last week in Athens, Georgia with her daughter,^ Mrs. Lamar Cole and Mr. Cole. The Coles return ed her with Mrs. Winn for the weekend. Mrs. C. M. Bailey and Mrs. W. L. Marshall are at King’s Inn, Highlands, North Carolina where they are spending a month. PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN Ernest C. Hipp, Jr. has re ceived his promotion to Captain in the U. S. Navy. Captain Hipp is cuirently on duty as a mem ber of the War College Staff at Newport, Rhode Island. He is the son of Mrs. Ernest C. Hipp of Wilmington, N. C. and was a former resident of this city. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Seymour were Mrs. Roger Seymour and children of Bow man, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Van Jones and family of Orangeburg visited Mr. Jones’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Jones this past weekend. Johnny Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Allen of Kingstree, and his friend, Jimmy Baker visited Johnny’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Oren F. Beaty last week. While here they visit ed Mt. Mitchell in N. C. Kay Young is attending a, house party at Myrtle Beach J with friends from Laurens. VACATIONED AT DAYTONA Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bryson and sons, Stanley and Stephen, are at home following a week’s vacation at Daytona Beach, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Poole of Elberton, Ga., spent Saturday with Mrs. Marvin Poole. Mr. and Mrs. James T. Smith of Columbia, visited Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Holland on Sunday, coming especially to pick up their son, Ronnie, who had spent the week wtih his grandparents. The Hollands w^nt with the Smiths to Montredt, N. C., to pick up Michael Smith who had been visiting there with Rev. and Mrs. J. S. Rice and family of Columbia. Mrs. Marvin Poole, Mrs. Bhiff Blakely, and Miss Annie Tinsley attended the funeral of Arthur Stevens in Cross Keys on Sun day.
