CLYDE TRAMMELL, Correspondent, Representative TELEPHONE THE CLINTON CHRONICLE Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lanford have returned to their home in Albany, Ga„ after spending the past week with her mother, Mrs. Sam Prince. Mrs. Roy Longshore and Mrs. Mary Ruth Bobb of Newberry, visited their sister and aunt, Mrs. L S. Parker, during the past week while she was a patient at the hospital. Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders, Timmy and Malcolm, visited Mr. and Mrs. Walter Floyd in Roe buck Sunday. Malcolm remain ed for a visit with the Floyds. Mrs. K. A. Torre and children of Lancaster, W. B. McKibben and children of Washington, D. C., visited their sister, Mrs. D. H. Roberts, and Mr. Roberts, and their mother, Mrs. T. J. Mc Kibben, who is with the Roberts family, last week, then went to the Roberts cabin on Lake Green wood for the remainder of the week. Misses Barbara and Kay Roberts of Spartanburg, spent the week-end with their parents. All of them spent Sunday at the lake. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hinson and family spent a few days re cently with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. James Gall- man in Great Falls, Misses Kay, Shirley and Brenda Hinson re mained for a few weeks visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. David Shockley and children were visitors^ in Anderson and Liberty on Monday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell visited their daughter, Mrs. Wil liam Stone, and family in Ander son Saturday. Sunday afternoon they visited Mrs. Trammell’s mother, Mrs. J. H. Seay, and sis ters, Miss Feroline Seay, Mrs. John Heath and Mrs. Paul Glenn and. their families in Greenville. Mr and Mrs. J. T. Lanford and Johnny attended the Lanford re union at Silver Lake in Startex on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Callahan and family of Charleston, were guests the past week of her sis ter, Mrs. J. B. Vanderford, and Mr. Vanderford. Mrs. I. N. Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. J.-Carl Pierce and children spent a recent week-end in Goldsboro, N. C., with relatives. While there they attended the Lane and Pierce reunions. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Motte of Savannah, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Motte and Miss Patricia Motte of Greenville, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Motte. : Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carroll and family of Pendelton, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Abercrombie. Karen and Mary ~Jo Carroll re mained for a visit with their grandparents. WITH THE SICK Mrs. Claude Willard has been a patient at Bailey Memorial hos pital for a week. Fred A. TERRY ROXANNE WHITT, 8 Terry Roxanne Whitt, 8-year- old daughter of Walter L. Whitt and Mrs. Claudine Whitt Oswald, died Friday at a local hospital after an illness of two weeks. Born in Florida, Roxanne had lived at Lydia for most of her life. She attended the Lydia Mill Church of God Sunday school and was a third grader at Provi dence School. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her stepfather, S. O. Oswald, of Lydia; a brother, Aaron Linsey Whitt of the home; a sister, Vickie Erline Whitt of the home; her grandparents, Mrs. Sarah Emma Oswald, J. C. Oswald, and Mr. and Mrs. George W. Howell of Lydia Mill; and Mr. and Mrs. John Davis of Laurens; and two half-sisters, Sara Frances Oswald and Nina Lynn Oswald of the home. Funeral services were conduct ed Sunday at 3:30 p. m. at the Lydia Mill Churfh of God by Rev. D. W. Moody anp Rev. Thomas E. Moore. Burial was in Rose- mont cemetery. Elliott. Miss Ruth Hair spent last week-end in Columbia with Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Hajr and other relatives. Guests of Mf. and Mrs. Preston White and Mrs. L. L. Simpson last week-end were Mrs. Irma Crews and Melissa of Reidsville, N. C.; Mrs. Louise Berry, Mrs. Harold Rollins and. Gregg of Greenville. Mrs. J. J. Lowman of White Rock, is visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lowman, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Bobo Estes and Mrs. Lottie Murphy of Enoree; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murphy of Union, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Murphy. F. M. Hair of Columbia, was a Saturday afternoon visitor of his sister and brother, Ruth and Wendell Hair. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Murphy were Sunddy visitors of Mrs. Ellen Crowe at the Laurens Love Rest Home. ‘ Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Killian were Sunday dinner guests of her mother, Mrs. Gladys Adams, in Prosperity. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Willing ham and children of Rock Hill, were visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. McCarthy and Mrs. E. J. Willingham over the week-end. BARBECUE SUFFER There will he a chicken barbe cue supper at the Joanna club house Friday, July 19, at 5:00 p. m., sponsored by the Joanna As sembly of God Church. Proceeds from the sale of the supper will be used to help pay for the church carpet. Chickens will be prepared by Carroll Johnson. Adult plates for a half chicken will be $1,25, and children’s plates will be 75c. REVIVAL IN PROGRESS A revival is in progress at the Joanna Church of God on the Columbia Highway, and will con tinue through Sunday night. The guest speaker is Rev. Lynn Bak er of Newberry. Services are being held each night at 7:00, with special music and singing by the Baker family. The public is invited to attend these services. PAJAMA PARTY ENJOYED Last Friday night the Cadet Girl Scouts enjoyed a pajama party at the Joanna club house. During the course of the evening, snacks, games and dancing were enjoyed by the group. Mrs. Mack Tern pel ton, leader, and Mrs. Ar thur League were chaperones for the evening.
