Simmons and Miss Marie Weir atended the Baptist Assembly at Ridgecrest, N. C., over the week-end. Mike Cogsdill has returned home following a tonsilectomy at Bailey Memorial Hospital Fri day. Melissa Jo Williams of Green ville, is spending a few days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Williams . On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Clif ton Heaton and daughters, Mrs. L. C. Heaton and Sara, Sgt. and Mrs. William G. Wells and son were in Greenville for Sgt. Wells to board a plane enroute to Ko rea. Shirley Ann Heaton and Peggy Harris of Greenville, visited Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Heaton Sunday. Miss Dunaway graduated from Clinton High School in 1957 and Mr. Gilstrap graduated from Parker High School In 1958. The wedding is planned for early July. BRIGHT-WATTS Miss Cheryl Elaine Bright of Route 2. Kinards, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Caldwell, became the bride of Richard Del ano Watts, Jr., of Clinton, on June 8 at the Northside Baptist Church, Elberton, Ga. Rev. Mar shall G. Smith performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Cald well and Mr. and Mrs. Watts, Sr., accompanied them to Geor gia. PROMOTION DAY Promotion day will be held at Epworth Methodist Church Sun day morning. Children of the be ginner, primary and junior de partments will have charge of the assembly. Those in the junior de partment will receive testaments along with their certificates of promotion. SCOUTS ATTEND CAMP Thirty-five members of Troop No. 75, Boy Scouts of America, and Explorer Scouts, along with Scoutmasters Julian Hunnicutt and Alvin Marshall, left the Jo anna club house on Sunday mor ning at 11:00 a. m. for a week at Camp Old Indian. The group is expected to return on Saturday morning between 11:00 and 11:30. ATTEND RIDGECREST Today (Thursday) thirteen of the young people of the First Baptist Church and three coun selors left for Ridgecrest Baptist Asembly, Ridgecrest, N. C., to attend the Music Week Confer ence from June 27th to July 3rd.
