Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fuinier of Huntsville, Ala., have returned to their home after a few days visit with her mother, Mrs. Lilly Belle Miller. Mr. and Mrs. William Stone and family of Anderson, were Sunday guests of his brother, Lewis Stone, and Mr. Stone, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde TramjMell. Mrs* Lois Webb attended fun eral services for Sirs. Myrtis King in Laurens on Wednesday of last week. Robert Cook is visiting his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Garland Rogers Gladewater, Texas, for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wrenn of Waterloo, visited his sister, Mrs. Frank Walker, and Mr. Walker Saturday. They also visited their nephews at Thornwell orphan age. Randy and Roger Brinkley of Thornwell returned home with their aunt and uncle for the sum mer. Mrs Virginia Wilson and Miss Harriet Wilson spent the week end at Chimney Rock and other session of the Order of Eastern Star, held in Columbia Monday through Wednesday. Mrs. Charles Gaffney and Mrs. Louise Hilton were visitors of Mrs. Ted Morris in Greenwood on Wednesday of last week. Friends will be sorry to know that. Rev. D. W. Moody, pastor of the Lydia Church of God, is ill at -the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. E. Hughes and Mr. Hughes, in Pendleton. Mrs. Moody was home for Sunday; but returned to Pendleton to be with her hus band. Mrs. Shirley Tribble has returned to her home in Alexan dria, Va., after visiting her pa rents, Rev. and Mrs. Moody. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kellett of Ninety-Six, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. McLendon and family of Green wood, visited Mrs. Kellett’s and Mrs McLendon’s father, C. J. Blackwell, on Sunday. W. P. Terrell has returned home after a week’s visit with his brother, Thomas Terrell, near Atlanta, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sharpton, Jr., and children, Bobby and Bar ry, of Savannah, Ga., visited Mrs. W, E. Johnson and Miss Mary Johnson during the week- Kj^rid. At the Cyclo- rama in Gettysburg, they met Mrs. Mamie Eisenhower, and the children got her to sign their jutograph books. DECEMBER WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. Everett Boswell of Rome, Ga., have announced the marriage of their daughter, Linda, to Seaman Eddie Aber crombie, son of MrVand Mrs. L. W. Abercrombie of Lydia. The marriage was performed in Greenwood December 24, 1962. Mrs . Abe r c r o m h i e is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Thornburg, and will remain here with them,while Mr. Aber crombie is in the Navy. He spent the past 11 days. here. He is aboard the USS Independence docked at Norfolk, Va., and was to sail this week for Cuba. LYDIA BAPTIST CHURCH NEWS The YWA’s will meet Monday evening at 6:00 at the home of Mrs. Verner Dees, counselor. • * • » The deacons will meet Sunday, June 23 at 5:30 p. m. at the church. Twenty-eight couples have been married by Rev.Sanders while at Lydia and these have been in vited to the service. The public is cordially invited.
