Mrs. W. L. I ns keep is spend ing two weeks in Newton, N C., with her son, L .W. Alexander, and family. Rev Gordon Peery is attend ing summer school at the Luth eran Seminary in Columbia. Mrs. Haxel Allison of Pine Bluff, N. C., is visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Stump and family. Major and Mrs. Dan S. Fer guson and children of Colum bia, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Adair, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crocker and family spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Don Ander son in Winston-Salem, N. C. Friends of Mrs. O. A. Sowers will regret to know she is 111 at her home on E. Florida St Mrs. Bert Farmer and chil dren, Debby and Stan, of Co lumbia, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Moore over the weekend. Mrs. Roy Workman is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital suffering from a broken leg. Mr. and Mrs. Brice Quinn of Blacksburg, spent the week-end with the latter’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. Blakely Tribble. Miss Luva McDonald and Misses Julia and Helen Porter left Tuesday for a week’s visit in Montreat, N. C. From there the Porters will go to Boone, N. C., tor several weeks of sum mer school training. Miss Mc Donald plans to return to her home in Iva. VISIT IN CALIFORNIA Mrs. John Clark and Mrs. P. B. Mitchell of this city, and Johnny Buchanan of Florence, and Misses Eugenia and Ginger Byers of Joanna, are visiting the former’s daughter, Miss Dorothy Clark, in San Francis co, California. While there they plan to visit Disney Land, Los Angeles and other points of in terest on the west coast. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Sublett and children, Phyllis and Arthur, at tended the graduation services at Erskine College, Due West, Monday, going especially to see their son and brother. Tommy Sublett, receive his B. S. degree in Physical Education. VISITING FROM INDIANA Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cleaver of Lafayette, Ind., are visiting this week with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cleaver. Mr. and Mrs. William E. Henry of Pineville, N. C. t and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henry and daughter, Kim of Atlanta, Ga. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. W. Edward Henry. C.; Mr. and Mrs. Horace Smith and family of this city. — CONNIE MILES Dances In Spartanburg Connie Miles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ottie Miles of 106 Shands Street, danced at the Spartanburg Memorial Audito rium Monday evening when Miss Marion’s School of Dance presented the annual recital. Miss Miles, a pupil of Miss Marion’s for the past five years, hopes to continue her dancing. Right now the little brunette beauty, who was 13 on May 24, is a seventh grade pupil at Clinton Junior High. Mr. Miles is maintenance su perintendent for Standard Ply woods. r This Is a top. WEEK-END AT BEACH Mr. and Mrs. Fred Crawford spent the week-end at Myrtle Beach. C. C. Giles is spending the week at Myrtle Beach with his daughter, Mrs. C. B. Kugler, and family, going especially for the graduation of his grand daughter, Bitsy Kugler, from high school. Mrs. Gordon Peery and daugh ter, Wanda, are spending several weeks in Florida visiting Mr. and Mrs. Peerys’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Japobsen and Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Peerdy. Mr. and Mrs. * Rhett Adair spent Monday visiting with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Page, in Little Mountain. ATTEND GRADUATION Mr. and Mrs. Claude Tram mell, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Tram mell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus King, Mrs. Ralph Stew art and son, Keith, with Mrs. Paul Prince of Laurens, visited Mr .and Mrs. Ed King in Rock Hill Sunday, going especially for the Winthrop College commence ment exercises Sunday afternnon when the former’s daughter, Miss Beth Trammell, was one of the graduates. Later Mr. and Mrs. Trammell, Miss Trammell, and Mrs. Alan Trammell and children left for a week’s vaca tion at Crescent Beach. , Mr. and Mrs. H, F. Boland of Orlando, Fla., attended the Thornwell Orphanage graduation services. While here they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Rhett Adair. Recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Youngblood and family were Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Mattox and family and Mrs. Mary Youngblood of Columbia. Converse College students here for the summer, having complet ed tjte semester’s work, are Miss es Corinne Boyd, Barbara Eich- elberger, Murray Addisoh and Linda Barroni of Joanna. Mr. and Mrs. John Addison are spending several days in Washington, D. C., where they will visit their daughter.
