C, Thuradmy, May X IMS Is Officer Cystic Fibrosis Unit Charles Buice, of Clinton, kas been named a vice-president of the GreenviUe-Spartaaburg Chap ter of the National Cystic Fibro sis Research Foundation. Roger N. Wesley of Greenville is presi dent of the group, and Charles E. Galloway of Laurens is also a vice-president Officers were named at a re cent meeting of the chapter in Greenville. The group includes members from counties in the upper part of the state. S. J. Kilgore, Sr. Sidney Johnson Kilgore, Sr., 80, of 274 Champlain St, Wood ruff, died at the home of a daugh ter, Mrs. George F. Fenner, Jacksonville, Fla., early Monday morning after an extended ill ness. He was a native of Newberry, a son of the late Andrew J. and Catherine Wyse Kilgore. He was a member of Woodruff Masonic Lodge for 50 years and was an elder of Woodruff Presbyterian Chruch. - His wife, Mrs. Nina Mabry Kilgore, died in 1957. He was a former resident of Clinton while superintendent of the electrical and woodworking departments of Thornwell Or phanage. ^ Surviving in addition to his daughter are a son, Sidney J. Kilgore, Jr., of Greenville; two sisters, Miss Rhoda Caroline Kil gore of Newberry, and Mrs. Janie Johnson of Tallahassee, Fla.;, two brothers, Rev. John Kilgore of Newberry, and Jesse Kilgore of Nashville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted at Harris Funeral Home in Abbeville Wednesday at 3:00 p. m. by Rev. An active member of the UHS Latin, French, Future Teachers, Science, Math and Library clubs, she is also a member of the Beta Club, editor of the school news paper "The Biddy”, has served on the student council and on the interschool council. She has received the Old Eng lish U award for extracurricular activities, and was named Miss Hi Miss, Girls’ State representa tive and a participant in Youth AppieciaitoKw eek. She serves as president of her Methodist Youth Fellowship and as a member of the official board of education at her church. Linda is the granddaughter of Mrs. H. F. Scott of Clinton. Ficklin, was given a trip to Charleston this weekend as a prize of the Greenville Pied mont. George Pressley is a surgical patient at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. Rev. and Mrs. C. J. Sexton, Elizabeth, Janet and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sexton visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sexton in Green ville Sunday. Rev. Sexton was guest preadier at the morning and evening worship services at McNeely Pentecostal Holiness Church in Greenville. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Arzo Ivester and family Saturday were Mrs. Ivester’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, of Mar ita, Ga., and also, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Whitworth and Gary, of Toccoa, Ga.
