C., over the Easter holidays. Misses Julie and Dixie Bolick, Amy Lou Black, Willie Prickett and Julian Bolick spent the Easter week-end at the Bolick cottage at Pawleys Island. Miss Ann Davis and Miss Ma rie Martin spent Sunday in Union with Miss Davis’ sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Yancy Eubanks. Mrs. Lois J. Hays was joined by other members of her family last Sunday to attend the fun eral of Mrs. Hay’s brother, Leon H. Johnson, in Landis, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Dodge of Schenectady, N. Y., were guests for several days recently of their ssiter-in-law, Mrs. H. E. Stur- geon, enroute to their home from a Florida vacation. CONVALESCING Friends of Mrs. Kenneth Has- elden will be interested to know she is a patient at Bailey Me morial Hospital, having been transferred from the Anderson Memorial Hospital where she was a surgical patient. Among those visiting her and Mr. Hasel- den over the weekend were her children, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Has- elden and son, Bill, of Colum bia; Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Hasel- den of Newport, R. I.; and Miss Lois Haselden of Anderson Col lege, Anderson. Joining them on Sunday were Mrs. Haselden’s brother, Gene Anut-rson, of An derson, and David Greenwell of Rockingham, N. C. ' > Visiting their mother, Mrs. Inez Pruitt, over the Easter week-end were Mr. and Mrs. John' Mims and Phillip Pruitt of Jacksonvile, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Pruitt of Atlanta. Al so Mrs. Grady Adams, Janice and Becky of Prosperity; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pruitt of Whit mire. Mrs. John Roseboro visited her sister, Mrs. Everette Carson, and Mr. Carson in Gastonia, N. C., last Friday and Saturday. Mrs. A. N.< Sewell and Mrs. Buell Stark of Dalton, Ga., are spending some time with their sister, Mrs. Hubert Pitts. Also visiting Mrs. Pitts during the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Craig Kennedy and Miss Sallie Kennedy of Spartanburg; Mrs. S. E. Evans and Miss Jean Ev ans of Lexington; Mr. and Mrs. Craig Kennedy and son, Wilton, Jr., of Columbia. Mrs. Gary Dillard has been in Salters several weeks with her brother, Tom E. Salters, who has been a hospital patient following a broken hip injury. Mr. and Mrs. Benny Phillips and little daughter, Lynn, of Ral eigh, N. C., spent the past week with Mrs. Phillips’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chick Ray. Winthrop students at home for the holidays include Myra Pitts, Jean Arnold and Julie Bolick. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chandler have returned home from a two weeks visit with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Hutto, in Reevesville. Mrs. Hutto accompanied her pa rents home for the week-end. Also coming for the holidays were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Chandler and daughters of Hopewell, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Irby Chandler of near here joined the family on Sunday. Miss Mytna Sease of Cayce, spent the Easter, holidays with her mother, Mrs. T. M. Sease. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chandler accompanied their son, Paul A. Chandler, to his home in Hope- well, Va., on Monday for a two weeks visit. Mrs. Chandler and daughters remained in Laurens for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Wasson. Mr. and Mrs. Jack H. Davis, III, of Clemson, and Miss Betsy Davis of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, spent the Easter holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack H. Davis, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Cooper, Jr., are touring in Florida for a few days. Holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Neal were Mrs. Neal’s mother, Mrs. Heneretta Boeve, and brother and sister-in-law, and Mr. and Mrs. Justin Boeve of Muskegon, Michigan. They left yesterday enroute to Mam moth Cave, Ky., before return ing home. Mrs. Eugene Hitt spent the weekend with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Armstrong in Gray Court. HOME FROM COLLEGE Dillard Jacobs, James Chand ler, and Edgar Everett, students at Spartanburg Junior College, spent the weekend at home. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Baker Jr. of Louisville, Ky., and Miss Anne Baker of Augusta, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Baker, during the Easter holidays. Rev. and Mrs. Allen. McSween of Greensboro, N. C. visited the latter’s mother, Mrs. L. B. Dil lard, recently. Ruth Holland of Clinton is the newly elected Enlistment Chair man of the Baptist Student Union Executive Council at Blue Moun tain College, Blue Mountain, Miss. COLLEGE STUDENTS HOME Some of the college students home for the Easter weekend were: Billy Nelson, Jimmy Mc Kee, Bobby Hamer and Boot- sie Horton of Carolina; Jean Ar nold of Winthrop; Celia Gasque and Louise Speake of Columbia; Milton Moore of Oak Ridge Mili tary Academy; and Barbara Eichelberger, Corinne Boyd, Murray Addison, and Linda Bar ron of Converse. Mrs. Bill Sease and small dau ghter, Lisa, of Charlottesville, Va., is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Campbell and Mr. Sease’s mother, Mrs. T. M Sease. Mr. Sease accompanied them for a few days visit. Also visting the Sease’s during the week were Mr. and Mrs. John Sease and children of Columbia. Mrs. T. M. Sease, Miss Myrna Sease and George Sease spent Sunday in Greenwood with their daughter and sister, Mrs. John Davis and Mr. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. John Wassimg and chUdren, Greg, Barbara, Dianne, and Bruce, of Bay Shore, Long Island, N. Y. are spending their Easter vacation with re latives here, Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Wassung and family. On Monday afternoon the Wassung children, Missy and Susan enter tained their cousins with a coke party at their home. Sixteen guest were invited. 1-1W-DN- Cpl. James Chaney of the Ma rines at Cherry Point, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. Tom Childress and little daughter of Dalzell, spent the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chaney. Lt. Col. and Mrs. Ralph Hol combe and son of Augusta, Ga., were here during the week-end to visit Mrs. Holcombe’s mother, Mrs. Irene Pitts. , - Mr. and Mrs. Lee Add Blakely spent Sunday in Spartanburg with their son and daughter-in- law, Dr. and Mrs. Guy Blakely and family. Friend* of Mr. and Mrs. Har old Raeford, formerly of Fay etteville, N. C., will be interest ed to know they are making their home here in the King Apartments. Mr. Raeford was on active duty with the U. S. Army at Fort Bragg. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Horne of Charlotte, N. C., were guests of the former’s brother and sis ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Horne, Sunday. Horace Payne, student at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg,, N. C., was at home during the holiday week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Finney and children, Mollie and Johnny, of Myrtle Beach, returned home Monday following a visit with the former’s mother, Mrs. John W. Finney, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pitts and children and Ed Pitts of Colum bia, visited their mother, Mrs. P. M. Pitts, during the ^Easter week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wrenn and little daughter of Clemson Col lege, Clemson, visited their pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Sim mons, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Wrenn. Ned Handback of Georgia Mili tary College, spent the Easter holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Handback. Miss Murray Addison of Con verse College. Johnson, Sr., who has spent the winter with her sister, Miss Eliz abeth White. Heyward Nettles of the South Carolina Medical College, in Charleston, and Mrs. Nettles of Winthrop Colege, were home the past week-end with their pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Net tles and Col. and Mrs. A. J. Thackston. Dr. and Mrs. James Walker and family visited Mrs. Walker’s sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Boatwright, In Monetta on Easter Sunday. Miss Miriam Templeton, Win throp College, Rock Hill, spent the the Easter week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Templeton. TOURED GARDENS Mrs. Robert Wysor and Miss Mary Kent Bell spent several days recently in Charleston and toured the historic homes and also visited Middleton Gardens. On last Friday they were guests of their sister, Mrs. J. B. Rick etts and Mr. Ricketts in Green ville. Miss Trecie Davis of Winthrop spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. qnd Mrs. Lawrence Davis. VISITED FROM VA. Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Bethea and son George, of Radford, Va., spent several days last week with the former’s brother, Eugene Be thea and Mrs. Bethea. VISITED IN NEW YORK Miss Dolly Crouch of Mount- ville joined Miss Ship Mulligan in Washington and they spent the weekend in New York. Deloach is a patient at Self Memorial Hospital follow ing surgery on Tuesday. Mrs. Frances McGowan of Mullins spent the weekend with her daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Smith, and family. Bryant and children of Darlington; Prof, and Mrs. Karl Johnson Jr., of Clemson, were here during the holidays to visit their parents, Mr. aiid Mrs. Karl Johnson. HERE FOR FUNERAL Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Kugler and daughters, Bitsy and Patsy, of Myrtle Beach were here this week on account of the death of Mrs. Kugler’s mother, Mrs. C. C. Giles. Chuck Giles, with the U. S. Navy in San Diego, Calif., is also home on account of the death of his grandmother. Mrs. G. A. Holland is visiting her sister, Mrs. Gene Brown and family at Mount Pleasant. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H. Bag- well, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bagwell and children, and Rev. and Mrs. David Cromer of Wake Forest, N. C. had Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H. BIBLE SCHOOL CLINIC The second Vacation Bible School clinic for Laurens Bap tist Association will be held at the First Baptist Church in Lau rens on Friday April 26. The clinic begins at 7 p. m. and con tinue until 9:15 p. m., it has been announced. Jimmy Bas of Massey College in Atlanta has resumed his stu dies after spending the Easter holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bass. Miss Violet Burgess of Dur ham, N. C. has returned home after spending the past week with her mother, Mrs. Joe Bur gess. Mrs. Charlie McDaniel, and Mrs. Kenneth Fincannon of Clin ton,' Mrs. Vera W. Turner and Mrs. Mildred Turner of Green ville, visited Miss Betty McDan iel at Kessler AFB, Biloxi, Miss., over the Easter holidays. Mrs. W. H. Ryenolds of Green ville is visiting her daughter, Mrs. James W. Cox, and Mr.. Cox and family here for a few days.
