several days recently visiting
and Mrs. J. V. Stilwell. On
Sunday, the Stillwells accom
panied Mrs. Bateman and the
children to Charleston where
they took a plane to Germany
to join Mr. Bateman.

ETV Program On
Furniture Slated
The Recond in a series of three
closed circuit television programs
on refinishing furniture is sche
duled for Thursday, February 14,
at 7:30 p. m., at ClintoA High
School.
Mrs. Lucille Chandler, Exten
sion House Furnishings Special
ist, will be featured on the pro
gram which will include informa
tion on tearing down and building
up chairs.
The presentation will also in
clude information on various
finishes and paint removers.
The telecast is sponsored by the

CAR FLIPS ON COUNTY ROAD
A Laurens County woman, identfiled by South Carolina
Highway Patrolman B. J. Bagwell as Mrs. Lois Frances Sim
mons, was injured in this accident around ILOO p. m., Thurs
day, on Secondary Road 23 some 7 miles north of Laurens
when the 1953 Pontiac she was driving left the road and over
turned on a curve while traveling west.
Mrs. Simmons was removed to the Laurens District Hos
pital by a Craine ambulance* where she was admitted with
back injuries.
Patrolman Bagwell said that Mrs. Simmons was enroute
to Watts Mills, where she was employed, at the time of the
