left Tuesday night for Fort Hood,
Texas, where Mr. Bolick is sta
tioned following a 13-day leave
and visit with Mr. and Mrs. Al
vin Marshall and Mrs. Bolick in
Kinards. The couple will live at
913 Estelle Ave in Killeen, Texas.
Mrs. Ruth Clark of Denver,
Colo., who is enroute to Florida,
is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Sue
Motes, and Mr. Motes for a few
days.
Kenneth Frazier, Larry King
and Clarence Martin left Wednes
day for Fort Jackson where they
were inducted into the army for
six months.

RECENT BRIDE HONORED
On Thursday evening a host of
friends gathered at the Joanna
club house honoring Mrs. Keith
Campbell, a recent bride, with a

Miss Culbertson and Miss Ruff
greeted the guests, and escorted
the honoree to the honor chair
that was covered in white with
ivy trailing down the arms. The
party rooms held lovely pink and
green flower arrangements.
Mrs. Cooley directed games
and contests, following which the
guests were invited into the din
ing room for refreshments, con
sisting of a salad plate, pound
cake, mints and drinks.
The gift table was overlaid in
Mrs. Ruth Cobb, member of Ep-
wprth Church for many years.
;• Mrs. La viola Cooley was in
charge of entertainment for the
party and presented a “This Is
Your Life*’ program on tape.
Each lady gave a farewell wish
to Mrs. Cobb.
Following entertainment mem
bers of the WSCS social service
hostesses for the occasion, served
refreshments of punch, cake
squares and nuts. Miss Kitty
Mae Mosely presided over the

Tie.” Mrs. Cobb was remember
ed with a gift. The family moved
last Saturday to Hendersonville,
N. C., to join Mr. Cobb who left
several weeks ago to take up his
new position as overseer of spin
ning for Tuxedo Mills. They will
live at 815 Justice St., Hender
sonville, N. C.

carried out. The table was over
laid in white linen and was cen
tered with a lovely arrangement
of pink carnations with a minia
ture bride and groom in the cen
ter. Place cards engraved with
pink wedding bells marked each
guest’s place. Favors were min
iature bags of pink tinted rice.
The guest list included very dose

after undergoing a tonsilectomy
at Self Memorial Hospital Satur

Barbara and Johnny Ingle visited
Ghost Town Sunday.
The Mountville Grange held
their annual picnic July 19th at
the Grange Hall. A delicious and
bountiful picnic was enjoyed by
Grange members, Mr. and Mrs
C. P. Key, State Grange Master
and his wife and other invited
guests.
After the picnic, Master J. M.
Wham called the meeting to or
der and introduced Mr. and Mrs
Key who showed slides and told
of their trip to India in 1960 when
they went as representatives of
the National Grange.
In telling of the life and econo
my of the country, Mr. Key stat
ed the average agricultural year-
income per farm was $45 and
there is no electricity, school or
colleges in the country. The
farming methods are primitive
and they have very little coal or
petroleum products. He said the
U. S. is unloading a ship load of
grain in soma peel in India every
day and this country is helping
to develop their agricultural and
educational systems while Russia
is helping develop the iron ore.
Mrs. Key displayed cooking
equipment and showed how the
Indian women dress. A different
dialect of language is spoken in
each of the 14 states. There are
256 political parties with the
Communist ranking second.
