from the sale of this record are

Mary Johnson for the May meet
ing of the Stephen D. Lee Chap
ter, United Daughters of the Con
federacy. The meeting was held
on Thursday evening at the home
of Mrs. Henry M. Young, who
was assisted by Mrs
Miller, Mrs. W. C. Baldwin and
Mrs. T. C. Johnson.

with many of the events taking
place at Mulberry plantation in
Kershaw County.

Circle of the First Baptist Church
at the staff house on the Whitten
Village campus on Tuesday eve

After supper Mrs. Loftis pre
sented a program on ‘The In
dians East of the Mississippi
River,” which included an ac
count of the work of the mis
sions among the tribes; a song by
Mrs. Setxer; a devotional ,by
Mrs. Alma Edgeworth. All mem
bers contributed to the observ
ance of the call to prayer for the
work among Indians elsewhere.
Mrs. Setter, leader, conduct
ed a business session. A gift
from the circle was presented to
Mrs. Ruby Redd, who U retiring
from active duty at the Village
Mrs. Loftis prseented the Com
munity Mission work for May

At Meeting Last Week
At the May meeting of the
Clinton Music Club held at the
Douglas House on the Presby
terian College campus Wednes
day of last week, members heard
a report on the recent South
Carolina Federation of Music
Clubs.
Mrs. Henderson Pitts, who at
tended the meeting along with
Mrs. Heath Copeland, Mr*.
Frank Fowler and Mrs. Wilson
Haris, gave the report,
Mrs. Grace Connor, president,
presided. Mrs. J. A. Orr gave the
hymn of the month, “The Du
teous Day Now Closeth,” with
Mrs. Copeland playing the hymn,
Mrs. Julian Coleman, program
leader, introduced Harry A.
Bauknight, band instructor of the
Clinton school, who presented the
Girls’ Choral Chib of cuntow
High School. They sang “The
Sound of Music” jand ‘Gigi.”

three piano selections, “Roman-
za,” “Rondo Carpiccloso,” and
“Nocturne.”

was stationed at Donaldson Air
Force Base, Greenville. They are
now residing in their new home
