GARDEN CLUB MEET
Mrs. Jake Rasor and Mrs. E.
W. Pinson weir hostesses at the
April meeting of the Friendly
Garden Club on Tuesday after
noon. April 3. at the home of
Mrs. Rasor.
Lovely flowering bulbs were
used at vantage points in the liv
ing and dining rooms.
The president. Mrs. J. H.
Thomason, Jr., opened the meet-
inf with the rending. “The Most
Beautiful Will in the World.” by
Charles Lownsburg. after which
she led in prayer.
Mrs. Cart Crisp and Mrs. John
Simmons were program leaders.
Mrs. Crisp introduced Mrs.
J. H. Powell of Waterloo, who
was the guest speaker. In her
most intreesting talk she dis
cussed the different varieties of
bulbs. She brought specimens
of bulbs from her garden.
Mrs. Powell followed her dis
cussion by conducting a most
interesting contest. She had
brought specimens of evergreens
from her garden and members
were asked to identify these.
Mrs. L. R. Adams was prize
winner. Mrs. Powell was pre
sented a gift.
Other interesting features of
this meeting were the exchange
of plants which is an annual
event, and the distributing of
flower arrangenemtn booklets
by Mrs. J. T. Hollingsworth.
The members were invited in
to the dining room where a
congealed salad plate with ham
biscuits and coffee, pound cake,
and Ice cream were served from
a beautifully appointed table.
The hostesses were assisted by
Mrs. C. S. Pinson. Mrs. Carl
Crisp and Mrs. L. R. Adams.

have their own identity in groups
of 12 and 12 year olds, with a
new costume designed especially
for them, consisting of slim blue
skirt, with their own insigne,
white blouse, and narrow red tie
Miss Martha F. Allen, national
director, said: ‘Changes in the
program are not the result of
what we at national headquarters
thought should he done, but are
the result of what girts, parents
and leaders have told was needed
during a period of intensive re
search. Bfore making the chang
es on a national scale, we ac
tually carried out these program
revisions in ten communities over
a period of two and a half years.

ed out the rough spots and gained
insight into needed revisions “
