Area physicians will gather at
Clinton High School Thursday
night for the nation’s first state
wide closed-circuit television pro
gram on medical advances.
The local doctors will be among
several hundred across the state
gathering in their hometown
schools to take part in this new
way of keeping doctors abreast
of rap'dly advancing medical
technology being offered by the
Medical College of South Carolina

This week's symposium is the
first of three thus far by the
medical college The initial sub
ject will be on “The Differential
Diagnosis of Chest Pain.” The en
tire proceeding will be put on
video tape and re-broadcast F'ri-

able to attend Thursday’s pro
gram
Subsequent programs will be
“Headache,” December 14-15,
and “The Lump in the Breast,"
January 4-5
The hour-long presentation will
be followed by a half-hour ques
tion and answer period over the
special telephone hook-up.

Education Meetings
Dr Marshall W Brown, presi
dent of Presbyterian College, is |
launched upon a full week of ac
tivity involving three separate
educational organizations.
After presiding as chairman
over a meeting of tile South Caro
lina Foundation of Independent
Colleges held in Greenville Wed
nesday afternoon, he flew to
Iwiuisville Ky . as a state repre
sentative on the Southern Region
nl Education Board This latter
group is meeting Thursday and
Friday to hear the report of its
Commission on Goals for Higher
Flducation in the South
President Brown then will fly
to Miami for the annual assembly
early next week of the Southern
Association of Secondary Schools
and Colleges He will be joined in

ic Dean George C Bellingrath,
also attending as a PC represen
tative to this regional accrediting

noon in the Veterans hospital
in Columbia after three weeks of
illness.
He was a native of Del Rio.

of advanced combat training re
cently at the First Infantry-
Training Regiment, Marine Corps
