Myra Snelgrove of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W R. Snelgrove. Mr. and Mrs.--W. R. Snelgrove and daughter, Myra, visited Cathy Snelgrove at Lander Coi- lege. Greenwood Saturday Mrs. Bud Carr and children accompanied by friends, spent Saturday with Mrs. John Heds- peth Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wooten visited Mr. and Mrs. George James in Duncan recently. D Sizemore has re turned home after spending a month with relatives and friends in Clayton, Ga Mrs W. B. Quinton and sons, Bill and Rufus, left September 19th to join Sgt Quinton in France where they will make their home for three years. Mr and Mrs Andy Hames and daughter, Gail, visited Mr. and Mrs. Lowrance Peace in Taylors Sunday. Mr and Mrs Charlie Japart and Brenda, Stanley Owens, Mr. and Mrs. George Cato and son, Larry. GOING-AWAY PARTY A going-away party was given Monday afternoon for Bill and Rufus Quinton, son of Sgt and Mrs Willie B. Quinton. Mrs. J. B Snelgrove and Miss Marie Weir entertained the children of the beginners department of Bailey Memorial Methodist Church Mrs Quinton and sons left Tuesday by plane to join Sgt Quinton in France Games and refreshments were enjoyed and the boys were given white Testaments as going-away gifts BIRTHDAYS AND WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES Randy Japart celebrated a birthday September 19. Bible Class of Calvary Baptist Church Thursday evening, Sept. 7 at the Community Building. Class officers for the coming year will be held in the follow ing order: President, Frances Bentley; Vice-President, Eunice Bras well; Secretary, Gertrude Fow ler; Assistant Secretary, Cath erine Hanley; Treasurer, Geneva Caughman; Assistant Treasur er, Vera Foster. A filmstrip, “Sunday School Class Group Leaders,” was shown. A casserole supper was enjoyed by all members and prospects. M. Y. F. MEET The M. Y. F. Sub-District of Methodist Church met Mon day night at Whitmire. SICKNESS Mrs. H. A. Adams has ill at her home on North Broad Street BIRTHDAY PARTY Debbie Wooten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Wooten, was honored with a birthday par ty at her home on Frances Street. Twenty boys and girls attended. Debbie received many lovely gifts and each child was given a favor. Refreshments consisting of lemonade. Ice cream and cookies were served.
