Pools To Close On 26
The pools at Clinton and Lydia
Mills will close for the season at
the end of the evening opening
hours on Saturday. August 28.
The pools were opened on June
1 and have been well attended
throughout the season with a
number of patrons taking advan
tage of the free swimming in
stnictions provided by the life
guards on duty at both pools.

Angela Blakely,
Daughter Of Former
Clintonians, Passes
Angela Ethel Blakely, one-year-
old daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Blakely of 104 Don’ Drive,
Greenville, died Monday after
noon at Duke University hospital
in Durham, N. C., after a month
of declining health and a week of
serious illness.
She was born in Greenville July
23, 1960
The mother is the former Missj
Paris (Pat) Boling. Mr. Blakely
is associated with the industrial j
division of the Minneapolis-Hon-
eywell Regulator Company. The
family formerly lived in Clinton,
before moving to Greenville three
years ago.
The Blakelys are members of
Eastlan Baptist Church.
Surviving also are four sieters,
Lynn, Jean, Carol and Laura
Blakely of the home; and the
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John |
Blakely of Ora. and Mrs. Carl;
Fogg of Colton, Calif.
Graveside services were con
ducted in Woodlawn Memorial
Park, Greenville. Wednesday at
4 30 p m by Dr. Ollin J. Owens

Walter M. Nash
Fountain Inn — Walter Mflton
Nash, Jr.. 58 lifelong resident of
the Merna community of Laurens
County, died in the Laurens hos
pital Monday morning following
a heart attack.
He was the son of Mrs. Pauline
Mabaffey Nash and the late W.
M. Nash. Sr. He attended Wofford
College and was a member of
Schroder Masonic .Lodge 144, and
has been associated with the Lau
rens County Health Department
as a sanitarian for the past 20
years He was a member of the
South Carolina Association of
Sanitarians and a lifelong mem
ber of Lebanon Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his
mother, are his wife, Mrs. Mary
Austin Nash; one son, W. M.
Nash, HI. of Laurens one broth
er, Alfred Nash, of Fountain Inn;
six sisters. Miss Sarah Nash of
Fountain Inn; Mrs John W
Ropp of Gray Court. Mrs. Robert
C. Wasson of Hickory Tavern;
