Mr. and Mrs. Tram- rtiell visited Mr. and Mrs. Royce Smith near Laurens. Keith re mained for a week's visit with Ken Trammell Mrs. Evelyn Sams and Brenda Smith of Clinton, were Sunday dinner guests of the former s son, Bobby Webb, and Mrs. Webb Mr. and Mrs D. E. Roberts and family were in Seneca Friday for the funeral services of Mrs. Roberts’ uncle, John W. Moss. Misses Debbie and Joan Harden of Seneca, returned home with the Roberts for a visit. Capt. and Mrs. James H. Drake and family of Bedford. Va., are visiting H. W. Williams, coming here to visit Capt. Drake's moth er, Mrs. Williams, who is serious ly ill in the BapUst hospital in Columbia. Mrs. G. C. Parrish, Jr., of Aiken, Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward Williams of Newberry, have also visited Mrs. Williams with Mr. Williams during the past week. Mrs. Henry King, with Mr. and Mrs. John Brewington and family of Laurens, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Motes and family of Joanna, recently attended the Goff reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sid ney Goff on Lake Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Riddle spent the past week visiting rela tives and friends in Chester, Pa., and Wildwood, N. J. Hoyt Bagwell. Miss Ann Bag- well, Wilton Bagwell and Joe Bag- well of Simpsonville, visited Mr. and Mrs. Henry Abercrombie Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Kelly, Bren da and Elton Kelly, Mrs. L. C. Alexander of Greenville, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs Harry Templeton. Mrs. James Allen and Frances, «nd Mrs. Hazel Sanders of Pel- zer, Mrs. Roy Lear and Miss Lin da Dees of Pineville, N. C., visit ed Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Billy Willard. Mrs. G. W. Bowen of Wadley. Ga.,' Gerald Bowen of Milledge- ville, Ga., and Mr$. Bryant Mc Daniel of Macon, Ga., were re cent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goss. Linda McDaniel re turned with her mother after vis iting the Goss family. Richard McDaniel of Macon, Ga , is vis iting the Goss family. Sgt. and Mrs. Tommy Huskey and children arrived at the home of Mrs Huskey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Parrish, Sr., on Monday morning after spending the past two and a half years in Germany. They will visit his pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hus key, in Gaffney, and the Parrish family for 30 days before leaving for Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Little “Tiger” Smith of Green- wood. spent Sunday with her great-grandfather, Coker Black- well Mr and Mrs. Ted Smith, her parents, came for her Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Major Crawford and children. Mike and Kay, and Miss Linda Faye White visited Troop 90 Boy Scouts at Camp Old Indian on Wednesday of last week. Terry Crawford was attend ing the camp. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kitchens and sons spent Sunday in Duncan with Mrs. Kitchens' mother, Mrs. Laura McGaha B. F Vanderford, Donny Van- deford. J B Vaiderford, Mickie Thomas and George Cato are among the National Guard mem bers training at Camp Stewart, Ga. Mrs. E. C. Burdette, Mrs. Charles Gaffney, Mrs. Clyde Trammell and Arthur Gallman with Mrs. Oscar Kinard, Mrs. E. C. Taylor, Jr., Mrs. Joe Camp bell, Mrs. Kenneth Haselden, Mrs. Ben Mauldin, Mrs. S. C Rowe, Mrs. John Mabry and Mrs. Des- sie Jean Hedgepath of Clinton, were in Laurens for the District 6, OES School of Instruction Fri day evening. J. Dickson and son of Norfolk, Va., joined his mother, Mrs. A. M. Dickson, here during the week end where she has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Oakley. The three Dicksons visited relatives in Anderson and Walhalla a few days before returning to Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bodie’s dau ghters and their families visited them Saturday. Later they all at tended a barbecue supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Brock in Newberry in celebration of Mr. Brock’s 66th birthday. Going with their parents were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pitts and Don ny of Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Patterson and “Chucky” of Inman; Mr .and Mrs. Jimmy Berry of Fork Shoals. Lee Thornburg is visiting in Sarasota, Flo. Miss Linda Bos well has returned to her home in Rome, Ga., after visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Thornburg. Mrs. Sam Prince,-Miss Nettie Prince, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lan- ford visited the former’s sister, Mr’s Summie Couch, in Finger; ville Sunday. PENTECOSTAL CLASS PICNIC On Saturday afternoon Rev. and Mrs. Roscpe Bryan, along with around 18 ybung people from Rev. Bryan’s Sunday school class of the Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church, motored to Lake Green wood for a picnic. Each one brought a picnic lunch WITH THE SICK Mrs. H. W. Mrs. Claude Smith of Joanna, is recuperaUng at the home of her daughetr, Mrs. Henry King, fol lowing surgery at the Donaldson Air Force Base hospital in Green ville. SCOUTS RETURN FROM CAMP Lydia’s Troop 90, Boy Scouts, returned to their homes Saturday after a week’s camping trip at Camp Old Indian. Among those attending the camp were Johnny Lanford, Terry Crawford, Fran cis Cooper, Jimmie Cooper, Butch Grady, Paul Arnold, Jr., and Mike Campbell, along with their scoutmaster, Ellis Huff- stetler. LYDIA BAPTIST CHURCH NEWS Circle Meets Tonight The Omathine Dabbs circle will meet tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p. m., with Mrs. Houston Ellis on the Whitmire highway. The members will meet at the church so everyone will have transportation. Homecoming Soon Plans are being made for the church’s homecoming to be held at the church September 10. Class Outing Mrs. H. N. Hughey, with Mr. Hughey, entertained her Sunday school class of junior girls with a trip to Greenwood State Park on Saturday afternoon. The girls went swimming before enjoying the charcoal hamburgers with cold drinks. Observe Focus Week The Sunbeams will observe Fo cus week next week. Beginning with Sunday when they will be recognized at church, Monday will be visitation emphasis, a Christmas in August party will be given the Sunbeams by the WMS on Tuesday evening. The regular program will be Wednes day afternoon. On Thursday a party for the Sunbeams and their mothers will be held.
