Mrs. Edith Coxe, of Laurens,
and Mr and Mrs. Henry Holly
and daughter, Bonnie, of Green
ville, were week-end guests of
Mrs. Hallie Campbell. Mr. and
Mrs. Buddy Yarborough and
children, of Mars Hill, N. C.,
spent Sunday with Mrs. Camp-
bell.
Mr and Mrs. Frank Deems
and family and Mrs. Belle
Deems, of Macon, Ga., visited
Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Lin-
dy Barlowe.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Glenn and
children, Keith and Deidre visit
ed Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell
on Wednesday of last week.
Deidre remained for a week's
vist with her aunt and uncle. Mr.
and Mrs. William Stone and chil
dren, of Anderson, were week
end guests of the Trammells and
Debbie and Henry stayed for the
week with their grandparents.

tors of Mr. and Mrs. Allen San
ders in Rock Hill on Saturday

and family were Sunday guests

of Niagara Falls, N. Y., were
recent visitors of Mrs. Annie
Lawson.

Norfolk, Va., spent the week-end
with his parents, Mr and Mrs.

Mrs. Sam Prince has return
ed home after a week’s visit with
her son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs Ernest Prince in Mar
ietta, Ga. Misses Nettie and Ro
berta Prince accompanied their
mother to Marietta for the week
end.
Mrs. Virginia Wilson accom
panied friends from Laurens to
Myrtle Beach over the week-end.

Savannah, Ga , are spending a

patient at Hays Hospital.

announcing the birth of a son.
Phillip Anthony, born July 14.
Mrs. Campbell was Miss Vera
Meggs, of Florence, before mar
riage.
Rev. Campbell, a former Clin
ton resident, is the son of Mrs.
Hallie Campbell.

Sgt. and Mrs. Frank Smith, of
Radcliff, Ky , have announced
the birth of a daughter, Susan
Darlene, born June 29 in the
Radcliff Base Hospital.
Mrs. Smith, a former Clinton
resident, is the former Miss Bar
bara Jo Todd.
Sharpton
Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sharpton,
Jr., of Savannah, Ga., announce
the birth of a son, July 19 in the
Savannah Hospital. 1
Mrs. Sharpton is the former
Miss Margaret Johnson. Both
she and Mr. Sharpton are for
merly of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. John C. Moel
ler, of Milwaukee, Wise., have
announced the birth of a son July
12. He has been named Dale An
thony.
Before marriage, Mrs. Moeller
was Miss Evelyn (Kooter) White,
a former Clinton resident.
RECENT BRIDE HONORED
Saturday evening Mrs. Calvin
Lee was honored with a house
hold shower in Pacolet at the
home of Mrs. Claude Lee.
Twenty friends were present.
Games were enjoyed, after
which the hostesses, Mrs. W. C.
Holbert of Clinton, Mrs. Shirley
Brackins and Mrs. Lee served
a salad plate with soft drinks.
Mrs. Lee received a large
number of lovely and useful
gifts.
Mrs. Holbert and Miss Kay
Pearson, sisters of Mrs. Lee, at
tended the lovely affair.
REECE INFANT
Graveside services were held,
at the Cow pens Cemetery in i
Spartanburg County for James
Robert Reese, infant son of
James F. and Lottie Fisher
Reese, of 148 Pine St., on July
15.
Rev. Roscoe Bryan conducted
the service.
Survivors are the parents, one
sister, Barbara Reese of the
home, and the paternal grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank J.
Reese, of Spartanburg.

Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Holbert
honored Mrs. Holbert’s sister,
Miss Kay Pearson with a birth
day dinner Sunday at their home

and Mrs. James Moore and fam

SURPRISE DINNER FOR
MRS. WHITMIRE
Upon returning from church
Sunday at noon, Mrs. R. E.
Whitmire was very pleasantly
surprised to find a birthday din
ner ready and a large number of
relatives waiting for her to re
turn home.
The delicious dinner was en
joyed by Mr. and Mrs. Whit
mire and Roger, Mr. and Mrs.
Allen White and children, of
Clinton. Mrs. Henry Davis, Sam,
Arthur, Harold and Miss Vir
ginia Davis and Mrs. Clarence
Crain and sons, of Ware Shoals,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lollis, of
Honea Path, and Mr. and Mrs.
H. P Burdette and Gary, of
Donalds.
Mrs. Whitmire was presented
several gifts; among them a Mel-
mac dinnerware set and a lovely
milk glass compote.
LYDIA BAPTIST CHURCH
Tonight (Thursday) the Broth
erhood will leave the church at
7 p. m. to go to the Laurens
County Jail for a worship ser
vice. All men of the church are
urged to attend the Brotherhood
meetings and to take part in
their atcivities.
LORD'S SUPPER SUNDAY
EVENING
The Ordinance of the Lord’s
Supper will be observed Sunday
evening at the 7:30 worship hour.
The Brotherhood has asked
the church family to take this
service as a time to replenish
the pantry by bringing any non-
perishable foods. The food from
the pantry is used to help needy
families in the community.

FRY
The Jr. R. A.’s of the Lydia
Baptist Church enjoyed an out
ing at the Baptist Assembly on
Lake Greenwood Monday after
noon.
The boys enjoyed a game of
ball and afterward charcoal
hamburgers and cold drinks were
enjoyed.
CHOIR CLINIC CONCERT
The choir clinic, which is be
ing attended by members from
all the churches at Lydia and
Clinton Mills, will present their
concert Friday evening at 7:30
p. m. at the Bailey Memorial
School Auditorium.
The public is invited to attend.
