Mr Duckett is the son of Mr and Mrs Max Duckett of Whit mire The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Motes The bride was unattended and entered with the bridegroom. She was dressed in a street-length while two-piece suit, the jacket was brocaded cotton, the skirt was of lovely polished cotton. She < arried a bouquet of white carna tions on a white Bible. The church was decorated with white cushion dahlias and white gladioli. Immediately following the cere mony, a reception was held in the recreation hall by Mrs. Madge Blackwell, Mrs. Carolyn Holmes, and Mrs. Barbara Welchel. Mrs Ruth Todd assisted with the serv ing The hall was decorated with garden flowers The groom is a graduate of the Whitmire High School and is now serving in the armed services. After two weeks he will be sent to Africa The bride is a grad uate of Clinton High School ami is employed at Madge's Beauty t Salon in Joanna While Mr Duck ett is abroad Mrs Duckett will be at the home ol her parents. Ol TING AT ( AMP Members of the Shady Grove' Church congregation met at j Camp Fellowship for swimming, boating and playing softball on July 22 Recreation was lollow- ed by a picnic supper Alter the picnic the group gathered at the shelter for a worship service Richard Boland, student pastor, brought the inspiring message MRS MORSE HONORED On Saturday evening at 8 00 at Hie Joanna club house Mrs Julia Blackwell Morse was honored with a miscellaneous shower The guests were greeted by Mr*. A Shouse and Ralph Edwards A group of young girls made cos tume jewelry, older boys and girls played table tennis, badmin ton, softball and darts. DISTRICT MEETING The Southern District Home Demonstration club will meet Thursday, July 27, at 3 30 at Har mony Methodist Church, with the Camak club as host The pro gram will be on civil defense, given by Mrs. Thomas Babb of Laurens. Mrs. Richard Boland and young son .Edward, are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. R W Mobley in Augusta, Ga Richard Boland is at Camp Fel lowship for the week. He is acting as one of the counselors and teaching a class of junior boys and girls Mrs. Wilbur Workman of Greenwood, was the guest of Mrs Newman Shouse on Monday. Clin ton’s second loss was to the champs, Abbeville, 4-2. Abbeville and Union started a best two of three series for the District Two championship in Abbeville last night. The two teams play the second game in Union tonight. To Commission Rev. And Mrs. Ross Wednesday Evening A commissioning service for the Rev. and Mrs. David Earl Ross, outgoing missionaries, will be held on Wednesday eve ning, August 2 dt Montreal. They will leave from Asheville, N. C., on August 3 for five years mis sion work in Seoul, Korea,,under the Board of World Missions of the Presbyterian Church, U. S They have been spending the summer attending the annual in stitute for outgoing missionaries at Montreal Mrs. Ross, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. T Layton Fraser of this city, is the first missionary to go out from the local church in many years. Dr and Mrs Fraser and daughter, Miss Ann Fraser, leave today for Montreal where the former will attend the World Mission Conference the coming week and the latter will attend the conference for young people and to be present for the com missioning service. An invitation has been extend ed to the church members and other Clinton friends to attend the service of consecration and dedication. McSween To Address Kiwanians Tonight The Clinton Kiwanis Club will hear William C. McSween, of Greenville, as Thursday night s featured speaker closing a se ries of programs on church- community relationships. McSween, the son of Dr John McSween and former Clinton resident and Presbyterian Col lege student, will talk on the re lationship of the layman to his | church The program is sched- j uled for 7 p m. in the ballroom (of the Hotel Mary Musgrove.
