Grand Jury Returns
No Sills In 17 Cases
Laurens—The following disjxv
sion of 17 cases that went before
the grand jury at the recent term
of General Sessions court in
l.aurens is reported
Two assault with intent to kill
cases were "no billed (thrown
out by the Grand Jury) when
witnesses failed to prosecute each
other In a third assault with in
tent to kill case the grand jury
found a lack ol evidence on the
part of the prosecuting witness
The first two assault cases
were reported to have occurred
over a charge placed b\ one of
the persons involved against the
other charging obtaining proper
ty under false pretense This cast
was thrown out at the same time
A worthless check charge was
dropped when the defendant's
bondsman paid the prosecuting
witness the amount of the check
Five non-support cases were
not prosecuted by the prosecuting
witnesses when an out-of-court
agreement was reached in the
cases
A charge of neglect of child
was also dropped by agreemenl
of the prosecuting witness and
defendant
The prosecuting witness in an
