In Clinton’s half of the sixth,
a single by King, a walk to Mc
Murchery, a single by Word, and
a fielder’s choice that nipped Kir
by, tied the score at 8 to 5. The
two-run eighth was all Word,
pitching in relief of Nelson and
Wasson, needed as he zeroed the
scoreboard for Anderson in the
last 3 innnigs.
The winning pitcher was Word.
Ralph Ellison was tagged with
