MRS. STEWART PASSES
Mrs. Vera Harrison Stewart.
53, widow of Sanford Stewart,
died Thursday night at a local
hospital after several years of de
clining health.
A native of Georgia, she had
lived In Clinton for a number of
years. She was a daughter of the
late Mason and Perry Lee Shoe
maker Harrison. She was a mem
ber of the Church of God.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs.
Dorothy Harrison of Greenwood,
and Mrs. Ruth Cook of Clinton;
two brothers, Sam Harrison of
State Park, and Henry Harrison
of Laurens.
Funeral services were conduct
ed Saturday at 3:00 p. m. at the
Church of God on Elizabeth
Street by Rev. J. L. Jenkins and
Rev. E. D. Johnson. Burial was
In Calvary cemetery.
Pallbearers were Freeman and
Tommy Lanford, Vernon Wil
liams, Jimmie Tucker, Virgil
Lell and J. D. Rushton.

Marvin Oliver (Toddy) San
ders, 44, of Rt. I, Inman, died
Sunday afternoon in a Spartan
burg hospital after four years of
declining heatlh.
He was a native of Spartan
burg County, but had lived in
Clinton for a number of years.
He was a son of Mrs. Ruby
Thompson Sanders and the late
Manuel Sanders. He was a veter
an jot World War II and the Ko
rean War and was a Methodist.
Surviving in addition to his
mother, are a son, Pvt. Marvin
Oliver Sanders, Jr., of the U. S.
Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune,
N. C.; four sisters, Mrs. Marie
Whitlock, of Startex; Mrs. Hilda
Page, of Mauldin; Mrs. Aretta
Hill, of Inman, and Mrs. Leila
Heatherly, of Clinton; three
brothers, Virgil Sanders, of Spar-
Unburg; Grover Lee Sanders, of
Clinton, and Copier Sanders, of
Roebuck.
Funeral services were conduct
ed Tuesday at 11 a. m. at BoU-
ing Springs Baptist Church by
Rev. James Crocker and Rev.
Will M. Page, Jr. Burial was in
the church cemetery.
