REDDECE IN HOSPITAL Friends of L. S. Reddeck will be interested to know be has been a patient at the General hospital in Greenville since Saturday. He plans to remain then this week for observation and treatment. Mn. Reddeck has been spending several days -in Greenville with him. General and Mrs. Ansel B. Godfrey left yesterday for Mi ami, Fla., when they will spend a few days while he is there on National Guard business. Mr. and Mn. BOSS TO ENTER MISSION WORK IN KOREA Rev. and Mrs. David Earl „ Ross have received their appoint- mond, Va ment to misionary service for student work In Korea from the Board of World Missions of the Prsebyterlan Church, U. S. Mrs. Ross is the former Miss Ellen Moselle Fraeer, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Layton Fraser of Clinton. The Rosses will take up their evangelistic misionary work in the late summer of this year af ter first attending the annual in stitute for outgoing missionaries in Montreat, N. C. They are pres ently residents of Williamsburg, Va., where Mr. Ross has been serving the Williamsburg Pres byterian Church. Mrs. Ross, a graduate of Clin ton High School and King Col lege, has also studied at Presby terian College and the Presbyte rian School of Christian Educa tion, Richmond, Va. Shs has served as recreation director at Lydia Cotton Mills, and assistant to the director of the Presbyte rian Guidance Center at Presby terian College. She has also had experience as a student director Jesse G. Roy Dies After Long Illness Laurens — Jesse G. Roy, 70, died Monday night in an Augus ta, Ga., hospital after a long ill- He was a native of Pleasant Hill, IU., but had lived in Laurens County for a number of year*. Wayne Morgan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Morgan, attended a district council meeting at the Spartanburg High School on Wednesday, April 12. Wayne is the retiring president of the Clin ton High School student body. The meeting was called to order by the president, Shirley Spivey. Devotional* were ooiducted by Steve Wright. Mrs. Peggy Burley showed the girls a film strip on party pies and dis cussed party Ups with them. All projects completed and in by next meeting. Roberts has been dismissed following an operation illness at Blalock Clinic. Mrs. McAHister Laurens—Mrs. Mattie Cooper McAllister, 81, of 062 S. Harper St., died at 6:90 p. m. Friday at a Laurens hospital after a short Illness. She was a native of the Cross Anchor community of Spartan burg County and was the daugh ter of the late T. William and Martha Ann Hollis Cooper. Her husband was the late Thomas J. McAllister who died in 1040. She was a member of the First Bap tist Church. Surviving are a son, Harry J. McAllister of Charlotte, N. C.; a daughter, Mrs. J. H. Moore of Laurens, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conduct ed at Kennedy Mortuary Chapel at 2 p. m. Sunday by Dr. Robert 8. Cooper. Burial was In Forest Lawn Cemetery. Burial was in the church ceme tery. . Pallbearers were Marvin Nel son, Albert Curry, Bobby Bell, Jimmie Cooper, William Senn. and George Penland. Mrs. Jim Price spent some time with Mrs. Cooper last week. Mr and Mrs. Richard Boland were called to Andrews last week on account of illness in Mrs. Bo land’s family. Alvin Hueble visited his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Hueble, last week-end. Alvin is now stationed at Fort Banning, Ga.
