Moore gave a desert bridge for members of her card club. Fall flowers in varied shades made a pretty background for the two tables appointed for a sweet course. A number of progressions were enjoyed during the afternoon, with Mrs. James P. Sloan making top score. 1 A Sun Bonnet Members Take Part In Program “Flower Arranging” was studied by the Sun Bonnet Chib members at their meeting on Monday after noon at the home of Mrs. Lynwood D. Lott on the Jacobs highway. Serving jointly as hostesses were Mrs. Harold Shields and Mrs S. P. Bowers. The program was in charge of Mrs. Taylor Martin and Mrs. John T. Young., who used posters to illustrate varied types of arrange- , meats. Each member had brought Bowers and containers and made an arrangement. Following a business session a dessert course was enjoyed. Chrysanthemums were combined with other fall flowers to decorate the hostess Yellow Jasmine Club Meets Outing Given For Church Classes Entertaining their first and third year classes in the junior depart ment of Broad Street Methodist Church Sunday school, Mrs. Charles G. Buice and James Sim mons were hosts to a number of boys and girls for a weiner roast on Friday evening Also invited for the occasion were the Kinunka Camp Fire Girts. The group gathered at the Buice home in the Lakewood section and ehjoyed roasting weiners and marshmallows over an outdoor fire. They also enjoyed a hike to the | Copeland lake. Mr. Buice and Mrs. Simmons as sisted in entertaining and serving the young people Saturday Evening Dance At Lakeside To begin the fall and winter sea son, a dance was given for mem bers at Lakeside Country Club on Saturday evening Merle Byers, of Laurens, presi dent. greeted the guests. Through out the 1 club rooms were varied fall arrangements in keeping with a seasonal motif. Refreshments were served in buffet style, with the table appropriately decorated with a pumpkin, vegetables, autumn leaves and tapers.
