enjoyed a Hallowe'en party yester
day afternoon at the home of the
leader. Mrs. J. B. .Arnold

Dies In New Jersey
Joanna — Mrs. 5ane Crawford
Breitinger. 41. wife of Carl E Breit-
iliger of 820 Coles Ave . Merchants-
ville N. J., died ikuurday night in
a Camden. N. J . hospital after
illness of two days.
She was the daughter of Mrs. Bell
Moorhead Crawford of Joanna ami
the late Lewis J. Crawford of-Union.
Shi? was born in Texas and spent
her youth there and in Lexington.
Okla. She attended the public schools
of Union and Clinton and lived in
Joanna for several years prior to
her marriage in 1942.
She was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Merchantville
Surviving, in addition to her moth
er and husband, are two sons Carl
A. Breitinger and Joseph Breitinger
of the home; a sister, Mrs. B<*b
Barry, of Detroit. Mich., and two
brothers. Lewis A. Crawford, of Jo
anna, and Thomas S Crawford, of
Laurens.
Funeral services were held yes
terday afternoon at a Mechantville
funeral home with burial there

Clyde E. Broom Dies
In Veterans Hospital
Clyde Edward Broom. 42, resi
dent of the Clinton Hold and an
employe of Baldwin Motor Co., died
early Monday morning in the Veter-.
an’s Hospital in Columbia.
A native of Charlotte, he was the
son of the late Troy W and Maggie
Craine Broom He had made his
home in Clinton for a number of
years.
He was twice married. Surviving
from his first marriage is his wife,
Mrs. Louise S Broom of Camden;
three daughters. Mrs. Sandra Law-
son of Clinton; Linda and Susan
Broom of Camden; two sons, Terry
Broom. U S Navy. New York: and
Darrell Broom of Camden; and
grandchildren., Surviving from his
second marrige is his wife. Mrs.
Sarah B Broom of Laurens; and
two daughters. Barbara and Libby
Broom: one brother. John F.
Broom of Laurens: one sister, Mrs.
Annie Bdle Johnson of Newberry
