The teachers will report to Clinton High School at 10:60 a. m. and at Bell Street High School at 10:00 a. ni. for the general meet ings. The teachers will report to their respective buildings in the afternoon for other meetings and for any other work to be done prior to the opening of school. All first grade pupils at Hamp ton Avenue, Bailey, Providence, Joanna, and Bell Street Elemen tary Schools will report Tuesday morning, August 36. at 9:36. Buss es will not run for the first grade registration, hut all first grade pupils who can possibly attend at this time are urged to do so. Sheriff C. W Wier reported Saturday Arrested first a week ago on an the father was later charged with rape, the sheriff said In a written statement to county officers, the girt implicated her fath er m a series of sexual relations w hich she said began when she w as U and continued until July of this year, the sheriff said -Eke charges were filed Tuesday by the girl’s mother who had also brought charges of assault and bat tery of a high and aggravated na ture against her husband in the girl’s behalf . The father, lodged in the county Jail here, denied the rape charges. He told the sheriff, in reference to the abuse charge, that be merely, corrected his children. He, has two other children. Officers were questioning the girl about the imauk $nd battery inci dent when she told of the sexual attacks, the sheriff wed Sheriff Wier aaid the mother, a textile worker, had complained pre viously to him that the daughter was being afcused by her father Following the smanlt and battery complaint Mat Saturday. PC Footballers To Report Monday College football swings back into the Clinton air Monday with the arrival on the Presbyterian College campus of candidates for the 1900 Blue Hose squad. Coach Frank Jones already has issued the pre-season practice call. He expects a total of 72 players, in cluding 35 freshmen, to respond to the efforts to maintain the Tanger ine Bowl prestige of last year. Practice cannot get underway un til next Thursday, September 1. but the players are needed in camp for preliminary preparations. Jones said the schedule calls for drawing equipment on Monday, having phy sical examinations on Tuesday and taking press pictures on Wednesday. On Tuesday night, the players wiH attend the football jamboree in a group. They will be introduced to the more than 500 sports fans ex pected to attend this program Jones said, when practice does open next Thursday morning, it will be on a two-a-day schedule, with a morning session starting at t:30 a. m aad the second at 1:30 p m ' 3l j MISS S.
