He was 2 native of Laurens Coun ty, a son of the late Earle Bryson and Mrs. Emma Coleman Bryson Chaney. He was a Methodist. John Earle Bryson and Roy C. Bryson, Jr. all of the home, a brother. Sidney Bry son of this city; two step-brothers, Oarl S Chaney of this city, and H. M. Chaney, Jr., of-Alameda, Calif; three step-sisters, Mrs. Roy Harris, Mrs. Roscoe Buzhardt and Miss Roberta Chaney of this city. The body is being returned to Spartanburg. Funeral arrangements will be announced by J. F. Floyd Mortuary. RETIRES Friends of Roy K. Wilson will be interested to know he has retired from his position at the Lydia Mills Store and will be at hiis home in Cross Anchor. Mr. Wilson has a long record of public service, having been connect ed with the Laurens Mills Store be fore coming to Lydia in 1942. Upon his retirement he was pre sented a gift from his fellow em ployees. Revival Services at Sharon Church, Kinards Revival services will be held at Sharon Methodist Church, Kinards, August 8-12, at 7:30 p. m. each eve ning. Guest minister wiU be the Rev. Results From 1960 Cancer Crusade Given By County Commander A total of $7,493 49 has been raised during the Laurens County Cancer Crusade for 1960. accord ing to Mrs Sarah D DeLoach, commander The county has gone over its goal and has reached the highest total ever reached.” Mrs DeLoach said A total of $7,165.06 was pledged and collected at the crusade ban quet held in Clinton in April Of the total amount raised ap proximately one-third goes for the three projects mentioned above The educational program places emphasis on the seven danger sig nals and the importance of early diagnosis which saves the lives of many cancer patients At present Laurens County has 21 cancer patients receiving aid in the following forms medicine for pam. tranaportatioa to and from clinics, use at hospital supplies, dressings, night clothes, bed linens, and aid towards maintaining nurse (or help in home ) The total expense* for the en tire drive including th* banquet for 223 guests amounted to $358 27 Special contnbutioos due to the out August 2, li(60 To The Editor The Clinton Chronicle Clinton, S. Through your columns, and on be half of my family, I would like to thank the Clinton Fire Department for the fine and courageous job thqy did in saving our home from com plete destruction by fire W r e greatly appreciate their efficient and whole hearted effort, which was rendered under unusual handicaps of weather and situation. Also we are grateful for the volunteer assistance of friends and neighbors, which en abled us to save most of our fur niture and belongings.
