W. L. (Roy) Owens Dies At Hospital W. Leroy (Roy) Owens. 41. died Tuesday mormng at Blalock CUnic after several years of declining health He was a native of Laurnes Coun ty. where he spent most of lus life He was a veteran of World War II and served overseas. Surviving is one sister. Mrs Sarah Shelnui of Lydia Mill. Funeral services will be conduct ed Thursday at 4 30 p. ’m at the Lydia Mill Baptist Church by the Rev Milford Sanders, the Rev J B. Abercrombie, and the Rev Ros- coe Bryant Burial will be in Rose- mont cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Young. T D Douglas. Homer Fuller, Billie Willard. Chapmon Dies In Laurens Laurens—Mrs Lila Lila Hollings worth Chapman. S3, widow of Au gustus Watts Chapman, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs T. J. liee. at 12 15 p m . Monday, follow ing a lengthy illness. A native of the Cross Hill com munity of Lauren> County, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Goodman Hollingsworth She wa> a member of Bethabara Baptist Church near Cross Hill. Surviving are eight sons, Fred Chapman. Manon L. Chapman. Newton Chapman, and Roy Chap man. all of Laurens. Clyde Chap man. Richard Chapman, and Gor don Chapman of Waterloo; and Pope Chapman of Clinton, three daughters. Mrs T Jud Lee. Mrs. Julia Devore, botn of Laurens: and Carol Marlow of Columbia, one half-brother. Quince Hollingsworth of Coral Gables. Fla : two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Stone and Mrs. Allie Wofford, both of Laurens; 15 grand children and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 3 uO p m at JJeUiabara Baptist Church by the Rev Paul Sullivan, and the Rev James Wells. Burial was in the church cemetery.
