Swift of DeaMokies, Iowa, are here to spend gi three weeks vacation with Mrs. Swift’s parents, Mir. and Mrs. C. T. Thomason. Mas Cornelia Harris of Columbia, spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. W. W. Harris. Mrs. Ralph Bozaql and infant daugiter, Barbara Lynn, returned Monday to their borne here from, the Newberry hospital Lewie Pitts of Bethune, spent the week-end bee with his mother, Mrs. W. Roy Pitts, and other, relatives. RETURNS HOME Friends of Mrs. Ruby Ginn will be interested to know she has returned to her home on Ferguson street. Mrs. Ginn has been away for some time and underwent an operation at a Florence hospital following which she convalesced at the home of her dau^der, Mrs. John Webb, in Sum ter. Mr. and Mrs. Webb and daugh ter, Wanda, accompanied her home ftui Saturday. NEW RESIDENTS Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Ragland have recently moved to Clinton and are maiding at 2-B King Apart ments. They are formerly of Kerns viile, N. C., and Mr. Ragland is a trainee with the Laurens Mils. L. C. Smith has returned from a business trip to Myrtle Beach. < Mrs. H. E. Sturgeon spent the week-end in Florence with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ehrya Sturgeon. Mrs. Ernest Chaney is via ting her daughter, Mm. Frazier Lominack, in New berry. Mrs. M. Cassanova is spending several weeks in Greenville with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Bailey, and Mr. Bailey. Friends of Mks. Don Boyd will be interested to know she is convalesc ing at home from a fractured ankle received in a fall on the ice Thursday. Dr. and Mrs. R. M. Fuller had as guests on Tuesday evening of the past week the latter's parents, Mir. and Mrs. Everette Poole, of Enoree, her sister, Mrs B. R. Lit tlejohn, Jr., of Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Lanford, of Wood ruff. They came especially to cele brate the birthday of Mr. Poole. Mrs. C. D. Yarborough and Miss Lily Yarborough have returned from a stay in Florida. Mrs. Yarborough visited her sister, Mrs. R. H. Pierce and niece, Mrs. R. L. Dover in Jacksonville. Miss Yarborough was also the guest of relatives and friends in Orlando, Tampa and Daytona Beach while away. Mrs. Dan Yarborough and her sister, Miss Mary Turner, were visitors there (hiring the past week and ac companied them home. ‘ FROM MICHIGAN Mrs. Augusta McMaster, of Lans ing, Mich., is spending several days with her daughter-in-law and grand children, Mrs. A. Abo visiting the Adairs were Mrs. Adair's son, Hubert Adair, of Greenville, and Mrs. Ralph Dula. of Laurens Jimmy Harvel, of Jonesville, Va., is the guest of Mr. and Mfa. CE-2 Tommy Butler of the US Navy, who has been stationed in Japan the past two years, is spend ing a 30-day furlough with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Butler, after which he will return to San FYancisco. Calif., for further assign ment. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bondi visited the latter’s brother Mid sister-in-taw, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Pitts, in Spar tanburg. Mbs Sara Pitts, student at Wia- throp College, Rock HU, will spend the coming week-end with her mother, Mrs. James Pitts. Mrs. A. C. Whitten visited her sister, Mrs. Floyd Whitten, in Greenville, and other friends and relatives in Seneca and Anderson Sunday and Monday. Milton Sumerei left yesterday to return to his home in Newport, Ky , after spending a few days with relatives here, having been called here because of the death of his brother. T. B. Sumerei. Miss Jean Nelson, senior at Win- throp College, Rock Hill, has re turned to school following six weeks practice teaching in Gilbert. John C. G. Nabors of Greenwood, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Nabors. Miss Nora Nabors of Clinton, is also spending a few days with them. Friends of Mrs. R. C. Oxner will regret to learn she has a broken ankle resulting from a fail at her home during the snow last Wednes day. Mrs Oxner has returned to her home after several days stay at Hays hospital. Mrs. Mary Bauknight and Mrs. Ruth Oxner attended the funeral of S. H. Stevenson in Chester on Sun day of last week. Mr. Stevenson was at one time a resident of Clinton, but had lived in Maryland for a number of years. He had been call ed to Chester because of the death of his father, and died suddenly while there R T. Dunlap is in Rock Hill this week on Federal court jury duty. Mrs Sam Madden is ill and con fined to her home. Mrs. Connie Davis and son, J. W. Davis, visited her mother in Colum bia Sunday. Walter E. M. Dutton, before returning to Fort Hood, Texas, where he was former ly stationed Sgt. Hallman was attached to the U. S. Army garrison at Poitier, France, for the past two years. While abroad they visited many Eu ropean countries including Spain, Austria, Italy and England. They defeated Poin sett 50-49 in one of the thrillers of the week, while losing to Saco-Low ell 69-54, and to Homelite 68-50. The Joanna girls team downed Abney of Anderson 44-22. while los ing to Slater 63-37.
