Poole, and Mrs. Eerie B. Al exander visited him. Lt. Col. F. V. Smith of Fort Me- 1 Pherson, Ga., spent the week-end at ids home here. Mrs. Lollis M.. Hardy and chil dren, Susan and Frankie Friknor, have returned to their home in Cam den after a few days visit with her - mother, Mrs. Frank E. Miller. Dr. and Mrs. R. H. Dawson spent the week-end with the former’s par ents at the Isle of Palms. Mrs. L. E. Cason has returned to her home after spending a number of weeks in Aiken with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert L Cason Mr. and Mrs. George Comelson, Dr and Mrs. R. M. Fuller spent last week near Montreal, Canada, where they enjoyed skiing. Wallace Boyd, student at David son College, Davidson, N. C., spent the week-end with his mother, Mfs. B Hubert Boyd. . Mrs. O. Johnson attended a recent meeting of the Laurens Bus iness and Professional Woman’s cjub when Miss Margaret Tolbert of Columbia, spoke. ' Friends of Mrs. Ruby Ginn of the Whitten Village staff, will be inter ested to know she will return to her home on Ferguson street this week after an operation illness at the Mc Leod Infirmary, Florence, and a convalescent stay with her daughter in Sumter. Mr. "and Mrs. Jerry Davis and little daughter, Cathy, of Green ville, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Milam. Friends of Miss Minnie Ray will be glad to know she is improving at her home on North Adair street after a several weeks illness. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Avery and daughter, Agnes Caroline, of Rock Hill, spent the week-end with Mrs. Avery’s mother, Mrs. Irby S. Hipp. Miss Miriam Templeton returned Tuesday to Augusta, Ga., after a visit of several days with her par- ents, Mr. and Mtrs. J. B. TVempleton. Ed Owens returned Monday to his home in Greenvale, Wisconsin, after a week’s visit with his sister, Mrs. R. E. Sadler, and other relatives. Billy Owens and daughter, Char lotte, of Atlanta, tla., spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Bes sie Hays Owens. A. C. McMaster of Washington, D. C., spent the week-end here with his family. Friends of Miss Patricia Taylor will regret to know she has been ill at her home the past week-end. Former Resident Is Symposium Speaker Miss Roberta Peay, formerly of this city, was one of the principal speakers for the fifth cardiac sym posium for nurses held in Chatta nooga, Tenn , Feb. 22 and 23. Miss Peay, a medical social work er, is assigned to the surgical branch of the clinical center at the National Institute of Health, Bethes- da, Md. She holds a B. S. degree in health and physical education from Winthrop College; an M. A. in so ciology from the University of South Carolina, and an M. S. S. from the New York School of Social Work at Columbia University. She is a commissioned officer of the U. S. Public Health Service. Friends of S. A. Pitts will regret to know he has been ill at his home this week. Mk. and Mks. Marvin Gauk. Jr., and children visited the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M G. Gauk in Bamberg the past week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Everette Carson and sons of Gastonia, N. C., were guests Sunday of Mrs. Carson’s sis ter, Mrs. John M. Rose boro, and Mr. Roseboro. Mrs. H. D. Allison, of Pine Bluff, N. C... is spending some time with her daughter and family. Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Stump. Macdonald were in Moultrie, Ga., this week to attend the funeral on Wednesday of O. J. Johnson, who was a trustee of Thornwell. Dr. Macdonald took part in the service. * Dr. Joseph M.
