JOYOUS CHRISTMAS AT COUNTY HOME
The Board of County Commissioners, along with Mr. and Mrs. W. H.
Cole, Superintendent of the County .Home, would like to thank all the kind
people of Laurens County who had a part in making Christmas for .the
inmates at the County Home a joyous occasion.
I have never experienced a more touching occasion than when the other
two Commissioners and myself went to the home on Christmas eve and
found Santa Claus standing by the tree that was surrounded with gifts of
all kinds that had been sent by groups and individuals from all areas of
the county.-1 felt that surely Laurens County must have.the best people
in the world. It was indeed proof that the spirit of Christ still prevails in
the world.
So, to each of you that had a part in bringing a little sunshine to these
unfortunate people, I want to, along with the Commissioners and Mr. and
Mrs. Cole, say “Thank You.”
FURMAN E. THOMPSON, Supervisor.
